My Sony will not power up; it flashes 4 times which seems to point to the fans. The service manual shows 3 fans I could only locate 2.
I tested both fans and they do work. Where is this third fan (if my set actually has one)? Any ideas on what would cause this problem?
Would a bad lamp, bad lamp driver or circuit cause the problem?
Thanks for any assistance.

For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.
the reason the tv flashes its l.e.d is to tell you there is a major fault in the main circuit board (pcb) and needs to be fixed its not a fuse it not a reset problem its a dynamic fault that could be from a bad resistor to a downed capacitor if you have knowledge of these components then check them using a multimeter find the faulty parts and replace accordingly. but if you have no idea then it will need to go into the repair shop. a lot of our customers ask us if the unit (tv) etc after being fixed will be any good or should they buy a new one. a good tech will fix the unit and in most cases it will be tweeked and work better but always get a quote up front and hold them to it within $50.00
best of luck to you

standby 4 time flashes shows error of Fan that is not running in TV. Your TV has 4 fans and any one is not running due to some reason. Check fans are not caught wires or some thing that causing problem. Qualifier tv tech will require to inspect TV if you are not comfortable working in TV.
5 flashes indicates ballast malfunction. 4 flashes indicates fan not working. I would replace the big fan in the back because it is a common failure for this model. But befor this check to see if the lamp door is warped from overheating. If it is the wiring on the balast good be burnt and the light engine could be damaged.
