ok thank you so much. but how would you format it? where do i go in the phone? and ok i can deal with not having the ring tones but its there a way that when you download ting tones that it goes directly to your memory card? and when i format it my pictures will work again. or does the same thing go for them as the ring tones?
    thanks again

No, most of it has to do with the formatting of the memory card.  My suggestion woud be to transfer everything to you computer, then format the card using the phone.  Then copy the information into the folders on the memory card.  Please not as far as ring tones go, ring tones will only work on the phone that was used to download them.  This is due to digital rights management information embedded in the ringtone.

I have the usb cable for my lg vu model CU920. i don't have the memory card, how can i transfer ringtones.

Sadly, you do need a memory card to do this, and the ring tones must be smaller than 300 KB.

Memory card music won't show up on my new lg vu cu920

If you copied your music from itunes or another such program, it is in an mp4 format and/ or has embedded DRM (Digital Rights Management- that program that makes apple ****!!!!!!) . The phone will not recognize or play that format. The easiest solution is to Google "free mp3 wma converter" and there are free full versions that you don't have to pay for. Drag the songs off of your itunes into a new folder on your desktop named TO BE CONVERTED and then open the converter and load them on. Make sure you create another folder on your desktop named CONVERTED for the destination file for the converted songs before you convert them and be sure to select that path to save them to or you may never find them. Once done, drag them from the converted folder onto your phone or memory card, and you're all set. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Cannot transfer music from memory card to phone,

Before you put your songs and file on your memory card did you first insert the memory card into your phone, and then formatted it?

I have the LG Rumor as well and i haven't figured out a way to make the songs available as a ring tone yet, it only gives me the option of downloading new ringtones, and I can only play my music in the music player ='(

LG Tu500(cu500) Ring tones problem

actually there is, use a program called Goldwave. open the song u want, trim it to 20-30secs, and save it as an Mp3, 44100hz 48Kpbs mono, then save it to the memory card. using the phone, goto the memory card, select the song you just edited. and set as ringtone. Done.

and yes this does work as i've currently got Sum 41 - With Me as my ringtone
