Question about Philips 32MF231D Television
Hi..To turn off the captions u have to go to
the settings in the television.There will be
a option in the tv to turn on or turn off the
caption.If u do not need it u have to turn
check it out..

I have the same problem with the same tv and the problem almost always is at least one blown capacitor on the power board of the tv. U can see for yourself. (be sure the warranty is up for your tv first, if not get phillips to fix this for you) remove the back cover and then the metal top that cover the power board (you will see the red yellow and white AV plug jacks) in there is the power board, you can tell whether or not the capacitor is blown by looking at the top of it, it will be bulging out or leaking. This is an easy fix, u can get new capacitors from radioshack or stores similar to it.
