Question about Dell Dimension 5150 (DIM515MIN) PC Desktop

Dell Dimension 5150 will not connect to the internet. HELP

I am unable to connect to the internet. I have run all the repair tests, run my antivirus software (no problems). All the tests say "connected" but I can not get get connected. HELP

Type in run "ping yahoo.com -t"
then press ok if u get like "rely from ........
then your internet is ok.
then check your windows firewall and antivirus firewall.off all firewall.then u can defenitely start internet .but if u get 'request time out"then u r not connected to your ISP internet .
check this let meknow please.u can do it man.

Check if your system is able to get an IP address.

Bypass your router to check if its a router connection problem. Connect your computer directly to your modem.

Click on Start>RUN>Type cmd then press enter. On the black box, type ipconfig /all. Check if your system has an IP address. If it says 169.254.x.x or no IP address then there's a oroblem with your connection. Power cycle your modem, router and computer then check your IP address again.

Power cycle your devices: modem - router then computer.

NAV cannot connect to the server


Try to access another antivirus website online scanner and go to windows update if you are unable to access them as well you have Win32.Worm.Downadup.Gen. It prevents any access to any antivirus software and windows updates it also turns off any installed sntiviru updates. Removal is actually really simple just go here

Try avgfree.com I have found norton to be a pain in the a*** at the best of times, or even atwil.com and download avast free security suite both very good and free.

Will not download definition and updates from internet. This has been happening since the renewal date. Yes, the computer is hooked to the internet, I can sure on the web & everything just fine.


If your are unable to update your antivirus software use an online scanner from Bitdefender, Panda or Symantic if you can not access the web site you have Win32.Worm.Downadup.Gen..This worm spreads through your network if you are sharing an internet connection run the removal tool on all pc's.

avira is not a good antivirus but it has no effect on internet connection.plz mention r u using internet through cable or wireless lan.

Norton antivirus is unable to do live updates


Go to symantec.com, if you renewed, symantec usually sends you an upgrade to your antivirus to your email so you can update to the current antivirus software
