Computer shops say that up to 20 percent of Toshiba laptops
brought in for repair have issues with overheating. Symptoms may be as
simple as the keyboard and bottom of the laptop being very hot while the
computer is working, or the fans running at maximum rotation while the
system becomes very slow for several minutes at a time. More
inconvenient issues are common, such as the system completely seizing up
and having to be "killed" with the battery pulled out, or the computer
may shut down all by itself with no warning. Sometimes the laptop works
fine until the user starts any significant memory-demanding
applications, like photo editing software, several Internet windows
being open at the same time, or an Internet video stream.
A common problem with the Toshiba laptop is that dust
becomes clogged between the cooling fan and the heatsink, a device which
lowers the temperature by dissipating heat into the surrounding air.
Now heat produced by the processor is trapped inside the laptop, and the
fan cannot blow it out.
If your telephone line may have disturbances from any electronic devices at any point then this could happen. Try moving other devices especially speakers, mobile phones and TV near the modem. Does your laptop wifi enabled one? Do you use telephone in that line? If so use a line filter with two out. could you give your laptop model no.? There is not enough details to pinpoint the problem
hi there, i had kind a same problem with u, the only difference is mine shows "connected" but i can't surf the internet when others in my network are doing just fine. 1st i tried to uninstall my LAN card driver and the reinstall it back. It worked, i can surf the internet but only for a few minutes. So i installed a firewall, in my case, i installed windows defender. After reinstalling my LAN card driver, i realized an unknown program tried to change some of my LAN driver files, so i denied the program access using windows defender. The problem solved !! Maybe it's a virus or spyware, i don't know because before installing windows defender, my avg and antispyware don't detect any virus/spyware. Hope this help, gud luck
you should download and install the software for your computer model that controls the functions like increasing & decreasing screen brightness, switch between screens etc. Try reinstallimg the OS using the recovery CD ROM that came with your computer
Could it be the screen saver when you said about Vertical lines.
I mean ,your computer was set to a certain period of time that if it stay idle, then the screen saver program will start to run.
