Cannot programme umusic to play specific CD's on personal presets

I have set up 3 presets. No1 for my music. No2 for my wife, and No3 for joint music. When I store a Cd it does not allocate it to the preset no. So I am now listening to some of my wife's music which I dislike. She listens to mine which she dislikes and we listen to everything on our joint preset which contains some of hers and some of mine Why are Cd's not being allocated to the respective preset. I have followed the instructions to the letter and have even turned the system off in the hope it will process the Cd's as required, but alas having deleted the Cd's a number of times we still have the same problem. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG. It is getting very frustrating. Please Help.

The system cannot allocate the cds as per preset... but yes you can teach the system what you like or you dont like by giving the song you dont like a -ve rating with the negative button on your remote below the umusic button.... same can be followed by your wife when she uses her preset and the umusic intelligent playback system would recognise you both as different individuals and play your music according to your tastes and preferences and learn to adap to your moods in just a matter of time...

thereis nothing wrong with the system. its just a misinterpretationor a miscommunication..

my system has learned my tatste in just 20 days and i have saved over 450 cds by now............

so try downloading the umusic guide from bose's website and learn how to use umusic....

My stereo keeps turning off when I listen to a station 101.5 in New Jersey

The only thing that can be is that you have set a timer "sleep" function for that station. I have looked at the manual and it states you can programme a sleep setting for a radio station.
The instructions are on page 12. But I have extracted them below:

1 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on.

2 Press and hold the CLOCK/TIMER button.

3 Within 10 seconds, press the or button

to select "ONCE" or "DAILY", and press the MEMORY

button. Set the clock to the correct time if "ONCE" or

"DAILY" does not appear.

4 Within 10 seconds, press the or button to select

"ONCE SET" or "DAILY SET", and press the MEMORY

button.

5 To adjust the hour, press the or button and then

press the MEMORY button.

6 To adjust the minutes, press the or button and

then press the MEMORY button.

7 Set the time to fi nish as in steps 5 and 6 above.

8 To select the timer playback source (CD, TUNER, USB,

iPhone/iPod, TAPE or AUDIO IN), press the or

button. Press the MEMORY button.

When you select the tuner, select a station by pressing

the or button, and then press the MEMORY

button. If a station has not been programmed, "NO

PRESET" will be displayed and timer setting will be

canceled.

9 Adjust the volume using the VOLUME control, and then

press the MEMORY button. Do not turn the volume up

too high.

10 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the power

stand-by mode. The "TIMER" indicator lights up and

the unit is ready for timer playback.

11 When the preset time is reached, playback will start.

The volume will increase gradually until it reaches the

preset volume. The "?" or "DAILY" indicator will blink

during timer playback.

12 When the timer end time is reached, the system will

enter the power stand-by mode automatically.

Once timer:

The timer will be canceled.

Daily timer:

The timer operates at the same time every day. It

will continue until the daily timer setting is canceled.
Cancel the daily timer when it is not in use.

How do I attach my i phone music to sony DAV SA 30?

There are iPhone cradles available that you set your Phone into, and I believe(don't hold be to it, as I haven't looked specifically for them) have RCA analog outputs, with charging available in the cradle. Have a look on Google. I'm sure you'll find hundreds of them. Those RCA cables, can plug into any high level(no phono inputs anymore) input, such as CD, DVD, TV, etc.

CD will not play in surround. How do I set to have music play in surround?

Unless your CD's are DTS-encoded, you can only SIMULATE surround or employ Digital Sound Processing from stereo sources to create virtual sound spaces and effects. The manual describes it on page 13.

Like any spice, using sound modes is a matter of personal taste.

Connecting ipod to Bose lifestyle 48

I have a Lifestyle 48 and called Bose today. It is possible all you need is a cord that is a 35mm headphone jack on one side and RCA jacks on the other. You plug it into the AUX jack in the back of your system and the headphone jack in the Ipod headphone spot. I got the cord at Best Buy for ten bucks. It works GREAT!

Dvd password accidentally entered How do I reset?

I just had the same problem tonight. My wife figured it out. The system password is 'BOSE', which is 2673 from the telephone keypad. Enter 2673 and this will unlock the default system password. My old 321 system also lost it's FM presets, so I think the original CMOS battery died on it's motherboard.

Storing music in BOSE 38 system

The Bose uMusic system is a very powerful music management tool. The uMusic storage process involves pulling information from your CD (approximately 3-5 minutes per CD) then storing this information into a buffer area for processing. The buffer area will hold approximately 10 CDs worth of data. After the buffer is full, it must stop taking new data and process the data already in the buffer. The processing time is about 30 minutes per CD.
This means 5 - 6 hous of processing per 10 CDs. So be patient. This is not unusual. Other "media servers" such at Escient and Audio Request take 24 - 48 hours to process a full buffer. There is a lot of data processing going on during this time period and the result is amazing music management once completed.

I recommend clients load 10 CDs in the morning and let it process till after lunch. Then another 10 CDs and let it process until after dinner. Then another 10 CDs and let it process overnight. This routine completes 30 CDs per day.

If you have 100 to 400 CDs an automated services is available from HouseSys.com. This is the only automated service available for this system.

Not an Audio CD/Format Unsupported

Clean the CD and try again. Also, if DVD displays "not supported", call Bose and ask to recieve an update disc. These updates are released every 6 months. Document your remote control settings before loading the update as they may be erased by the update and will require re-entering settings after the update.

Bose Lifestyle 48 Series IV

hate to stae the obvious and painfull answer, but that nees to go back to the shop where if the sales guy cant get it sorted for you it could be a firmware crash and tus a warranty replacement, i know the manual is not that good in this specif area. and a non warranty reset may cost money, if warranty does not cover this specific area of adventure as it is possible they could blame the content of the media being corrupted in some way, could be ahrd one.

however you could try remoing the disk and resetting the system according to manual frist.

good luck ;-)
