Lotus notes archives not appearing on the workspace

Using lotus notes v7. I got about 7 archives with various months names and wanted to add the next. Now I created the new archive fine, and the default one got copied into the new file and became empty again so, sofar so good. However when I try to open the saved archive to add it to my workspace in Lotus, it opens it on the place of the default. Interestingly if I right click on it and see filename, then the filename is still the default's filename, however if I click on it now the new archive opens. So basically it opens a different file than what is in the settings, and my new archive does not show up as an icon on the workspace. I tried to remove it, put it back no luck just the same. Can also not add any other archives, if I try to open another, still the default is the one that stays there and again the newly opened one is what it will "control" but the filename in the settings is still the default:S Total mess. Anybody met this problem yet?

This problem tends to happen if something is wrong with your desktop.ndk (might be desktop7.ndk) document, you can find that in the notes folder or in the data subfolder, but you can search for it. Shut down lotus, rename the file, start lotus again. It will create a new desktop file. The backside is that you will loose all your bookmarks, but on the new desktop you can add the archives.

Let me know if it worked and rate my solutions pls

A disk utility to recover nsf-file

put it on the new computer and from the Notes File menu switch to that ID when you need to open the old mail file. You can also use the ID to unencrypt the database so that you can read it using any ID file. (Under File-Database Properties-Encryption Settings) I had read about it here:

File extension .lwp (Lotus Word Pro) how to open it.(I using win7)

If you still have Lotus Word or know someone that has Lotus Word on their computer, open the file with Lotus Word and then save the file in MS Word file format or as a text file and then open the file in MS Word on your computer.

Covert lotus notes address book "names.nsf" to an excel file

I just stumbled on this one. Actually it's EASY! Open up your contacts list in Notes, go to the File menu, choose export. You can pick either "Structured Text", "Tabular Text", or "Comma Separated Value". All of these import well into either of those programs.

Lotus Notes files

Unfortunately, it's not possible.
Lotus notes files are all .nsf and you will only be able to view them with a full client lotus notes installation.
There is no other software available that will read .nsf files.
You could save your archived files to a cd or flash drive, then find someone who has lotus notes and use their system to view your files. You need the full installation as you will not be able to use the web access version to view your old archives.

Have you ever forgotten your Excel workbook or sheet password?
Here you can download a FREE Excel add-in that removes/cracks sheet and workbook password protection in Excel®.
NB! This program can't remove file protection, i.e. if you are unable to open the file, this program won't help you. You could try Excel Key to remove file protection. If you need to crack the VBA-password try this one.
This Excel add-in (password.xla) works fine in Excel 5.0 and above (including Excel 2000, XP and 2003).
This program will remove passwords of any length, also passwords containing special characters.
