Hi, The blinking lights are usually an indication of a problem. Your manual will tell you what the blinking sequence means. If you have had a power blink or such the failure mode can be reset. Press and hold the start button for 30 seconds, if this doesn't work the electronics can be cold rebooted by turning off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds. If it is a hard electronic failure it will resume blinking the failure codes. Good Luck!

Check if you are getting water into the dispenser.

If water regularly flows to the dispenser, and only softener is not dispensed, then the lid located at the back of dispenser, that moves from detergent to softener dispenser is stuck.

The dispenser drawer must be taken apart to fix the problem, you may need to call a technician.

If there is water, and the dispenser lines are not clogged, then you have a defective dispenser mechanism.

    Here is the replacement part.

    Ginko Feb 09, 2009

I did not talk about "draw" I told you that the dispenser lid is probably stuck inside because of a broken mechanic, that is same latch you are talking about, you need to replace the assembly that costs $35.

First you need to test that there is voltage to the dispenser using a multimeter. Remember that there is AC power in your appliance, and if you DIY you must observe strictly all safety rules.

    Here is UK replacement:replacement part.

Alternatively enter your model number (the one in service tag) here.

If you cannot find model number see: help finding the model number on your appliance.

I will be grateful if you can correct the negative rating given.

    Thanks.

Re: "If i take tablet out of dispenser and leave door of dispenser open ,

In this case you need to test voltages to dispenser from control board.

If voltages read fine it is still a faulty dispenser assembly, that gets stuck when door is closed.
Check that water is flowing under all conditions, otherwise it is just a hose problem.
I do not have schematics for this particular model , but that is the way it works. You can post here model number , I can see if I find diagrams.

Often on repairs you have to work eliminating all possible cause, then you replace the defective part.

    . If
the dispenser is not opening, first make sure you aren't loading the
machine so dishes or pots and pans are touching the dispenser, and that
dish racks aren't blocking the dispenser. Also check to make sure the
    dispenser tray isn't cracked.

I have a Hotpoint SDW 60 problem! The dishwasher starts and goes through pre-wash but stops with just the 'Delicate' light flashing. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

If the original light flashing that means it indicate a fault in the heating circuit. Heater, wiring, thermistor / pcb. (Main control board).

The new flashing light, PreWash (this is the only one on my list for a fault code indication). indicates a fault with the thermistor.

You would need to check by taking the door apart that the thermistor hasn't come off it's mount by the dispenser.

You would then need access to and be able to use a multimeter to test the heater and wiring to ensure they are closed circuit.

Dishwasher dispenser will not open. I've been using the detergent tablets and am wondering if I should be using a liquid or powder instead?

Try starting a cycle without using detergent at all. If the dispenser opens, you just need to use powder detergent because the tablets are too big for the dispenser. If it still doesn't work, replace the dispenser. Go to the link to see how to take the door apart and replace the dispenser.

Dshwasher tablet wnt come ut and dshes very wet

The detergent tablet dispenser door is energized by a solenoid wired directly to timer control board. The drawer will normally open releasing the tablet when the machine starts filling.

If the Drawer does not release the tablet, then either dispenser solenoid is faulty, or timer board mast be replaced.

If the machine is functional but does not release, then the technician will probably need to replace the detergent table dispenser solenoid, that often is built in with dispenser assembly.

You can call support ringing the number listed at the end of the owners manual.

Tablet falls out & doesn't dissolve especially on fast cycle

Hi and wlecome...
You should not use anything other than powered dishwasher detergent in these products. They are not designed for tablet-style detergents. The reason is because the dispenser does not "open" during the wash cycle like you would see on a conventional dishwaser. The incoming water pours over the detergent and releases the mixture out the bottom of the dispenser. Dishwasher error codes please help

I too had this problen today. Printed off a manual from the Hotpoint website. Very helpful troubleshoot section. Anyway, flashing eco and fast lights and beeping sound indicates 'water feed pipe blocked' You need to check the water inlet connections on your tap. However, when we pulled it out we noticed the blue water inlet pipe was slightly kinked. Straightened this out and hey presto! It works fine again. How this happens when its worked ok for 18 months will never know but still. Try it! hope this was helpful...shewoo
