Replace the l;amp with a 20 watts one, ther is a contact or a lose wiring inside after disassembly, that is the reason why the table does not turn.

Why does ge microwave blows fuse when door is opened?

Inspect the door switches and the wiring in the light bulb circuit. If the problem is a door switch, it will probably be visibly broken, or there will be burn marks on it. It's also possible that the door switch bracket is bent or broken and allows the terminals to short to the oven frame. Check the lamp socket - if it is cracked or burned, it should be replaced.

Also look for signs of arcing or burn marks on the controller board, especially near the relays (usually black plastic boxes about 1" x 1' x 3/4' mounted near the wire terminals or wire harness connector).

As a general note, it is rare for a fuse to fail by itself. If you find a blown fuse, look for a cause before replacing it. This may prevent wasting another fuse.

GE microwave oven model#JVM1441BH04 when you close door on switch activates and oven comes on. Only goes off when door is opened.

HELLO.

the problem your are experiencing with your microwave oven is a failed interlock switch.
Be careful when closing your microwave door. Slamming the door too hard is one of the main reasons that the interlock switch is damaged.

Slamming the microwave door shut can easily blow the microwave fuse, but they can also blow due to problems with the interlock switches.
A microwave oven will not function until the fuse is replaced.

Instruction on how to replace fuse on microwave.

1. Unplug the microwave from the electrical outlet to prevent electrocution. Place the microwave in a well-lit area to be able to locate the fuse.

2. Use a screwdriver to remove the outer cabinet of the microwave, and follow the power cord to the fuse. The fuse is located 2 to 3 inches within the microwave and is attached to the power board.

3. Observe the fuse to determine if it is blown. Blown glass fuses will produce burn marks on nearby surfaces, or the internal fuse wire will be black and melted, while ceramic fuses show no outward appearance of being blown.

4. Determine if a ceramic fuse is blown by testing it with an ohmmeter. If the ohmmeter reads zero ohms, your fuse is not blown. Other readings on the ohmmeter show that your fuse is blown.

5. Replace the blown fuse by popping it out of its holder, and snapping a new fuse in its place. Tighten the fuse clips by squeezing them together with your fingers.

6. Replace the outer cabinet of the microwave, and plug the microwave back into the electrical outlet. Test the microwave to see if it's working properly.

thanks.

The bulb has blown on my microwave, can it be changed

Replacement of the lamp should be carried out by a qualified appliance repair service.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

But here is a basic method if you are mechanically minded and have electrical safety knowledge.

The lamp is sat in a housing and its position is adjacent to the vent holes that it shines through.
If you feel confident, disconnect it from the mains power, remove anything in the cavity.
Remove the microwave cover. Purchasing a new replacement lamp will be useful as it will give you an idea of what it looks like. Locate the dead lamp remove the lamp and fit the new one. Replace the covers. Plug it back in and try the lamp by opening the door.
Hope this helps.

This microwave is about 5 years old. It suddenly stopped working. No power, no lights coming on, just shut off completely. Can it be fixed?

Yes it can be fixed! the main fuse in the microwave has blown, this is usually caused by a defective door switch, but on occasion it is just the fuse.

How do I replace the internal fuse on my Over the Range GE microwave? I opened the microwave door and and there was a quick spark after which the microwave went dead with no power. I have checked the...

I would say the lamp popped and took the fuse, so you will need to replace the lamp also.

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARRAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Power to back of oven going in and out of the oven but nothing happening not even the clock is coming on. please help.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. When microwave oven doesn't work at all, it means interior fuse inside the microwave has blown (usually a part inside the microwave makes this fuse blow). Sometimes a bad fuse holder inside the microwave cannot hold the fuse tight enough and the fuse will blow as well. If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work. It can also be due to a stuck or faulty door switch which might have blown the interior microwave fuse.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Microwave wont run, displays E 10 on the screen and also microwave fault, press stop to acknowledge, just changed the door.

e 10 is the internal safety fuse has blown this often happens if door is altered for any reason moving the door can effect the setting of the monitor switches these are set to a high tolerance to avoid operation of microwave with door open changing the door has shifted these settings and blown the fuse, replacing the fuse may be enough to get it going but it should be checked for leakage.
