Go to Device Manager,(Just right click on my computer an select properties,device manager) find your wireless card, right-click select 'Properties'(or double-click on the device). Go to 'Advanced'. Find Radio ON/OFF option from the list. This controls the wireless button. If it's OFF the button is disabled and the antenna is OFF so switch it to ON. Next, Go into control panel , network connections, right click on the wireless network icon and if the option "Enable" is present at the top, click it. If it says "Disable" just leave it. Right click on it again and choose properties and then go to the advanced tab and tick the box that says "Let windows manage my wireless connections" or similar, back in the general tab make sure the box is ticked that says "show icon in notification are when connected" or similar.

Now right click on the wireless network icon down by the clock (the icon of a single pc) and "show available networks", press f5 to do a refresh, Click on your wireless network and click connect.(Make sure you have also turned the wireless on via the button above the keyboard.(I believe on yours it will be blue when on) Please rate this a fixya

Your laptop is equipped with wireless already, see here:

LINK to specs

If not, use any of the USB ports and if it prompts you for software you would need to get the driver onto a USB memory card to install it.

Does my acer travelmate 220 have wireless

From the support site it says that it has an Ambit 802.11 a+g or an Ambit 802.11a. Here is the support site address Acer Travelmate 220. Are you not seeing a wireless card listed in device manager or under network connections? Is there a switch somewhere that is turned off?

I can´t install my network controller --> wlan .

no problem. That's right. On the website you can find several LAN drvers, because they don't always mount the same adapters, even if it is the same model of computer.

Press the following button on the upper bar.

If that does not work, then you will probably need to reinstall the drivers for wireless.
