Question about Optoma DX605 Multimedia Projector
Where can i get a balast for optoma projectors? I replaced bulb an after 20 minutes the bulb exploded. i am now down $550 in bulbs. a repair tecnician told me it was a ballast problem?
SOURCE: No Power
IF HTE UNIT WAS WORKING FINE, THE BULD MAY OF NOT BEEN BURNED OUT THE SENCERS FOR THE BULB MAY HAVE BURT OUT GIVING YOU A FUALTY BULB ISSSUE,
DOES THE FAN RUN, PUT THE OLF BULB BACK IN AND CHECK WHAT IS WORKING AND NOT WORKING AND COMPARE IT WITH THE NEW BULB IN AND THAN CALL THE MANUFACTURE AND TALK WITH TECHNICAIL SUPPORT PERSONNEL

Possible cause is overheating.
Do you hear the fan working?
What happens when you use the lowest level light output?
Does it run longer?
Also possible cause is a faulty temp sensor.
AC wire connection may not be firmly pressed in socket.

if it is a replacement lamp, was the lamp timer reset after replacement? if it's the original lamp and the projector only has 83 hours on it, there is either a bad lamp or a cooling problem.

That must be an overheating problem . If you are sure that you replaced the bulb correctly , then i would say that one of these parts [ Power transformer , or Fuse , or the whole Power PCB ] is hurt .
