Sansa 250 suddenly stopped d/l music-yellow icon

I have rhapsody, and sansa sandisk is compatable, but suddenly it quit accepting songs, and a yellow icon appeared beside the green battery icon. it acts like it is d/l and song, but is stuck on ''transfering 1 of 1 to sansa approx 48 sec remaining. i just purchased this one to replace one that had a ''corrupted certificate'' it also had the yellow icon suddenly appear. also- the pre-installed music wont show up on rhapsody when i see which songs are installed ,so i cant delete them. thank you

new sansae250 mp3 player. loaded it with music from my rhapsody account. listened to music. later, wanted to add more music, but saw a yellow icon (sort of like a lightening bolt) now music wont transfer, though it looks like it is.but it stays at 48 seconds left ,and never completes the transfer. also-i cant delete the pre-installed music ,as it does not show up on the computer screen like it is not in the player.removing the battery did not help

  • dsmliv2luv Feb 10, 2009

the yellow icon only shows up when i plug it in to the computer. it should have a green circle beside the battery icon. restarting didnt help, and taking the battery out for a minute and reloading did not help either.i still have all the music i put in earlier,i just cant add any more.

i ran a sansa update and my firmware was the latest, all i needed was the manuel and media player.when i had the computer in mtp mode, the computer prompted a sansa firmware update,so i ran it,then after running the update, it said that i needed to be in msc mode, which i did, then the sansa box update only gave the option of updating the media thing and the manuel, that the firmware was up to date

  • dsmliv2luv Feb 10, 2009

  • dsmliv2luv Feb 10, 2009

    Hi
When the library database file on the device corrupts it can exhibit
several strange behaviors including showing duplicate tracks. The most
thorough method of giving yourself a clean slate on the device is to
format it per the steps below:

    a) Open Windows Media Player
    b) Click the Synchronize tab
    c)
In the drop-down menu on the right, choose the device that you want to
format (It may already show your Sansa device as selected)
    d) Click the Format storage media button (the pencil icon)

    HI,

Please reset the player.Hold the power button for 1 min. This will reset the player.Let me know if you still get that yellow icon

I would suggest you to format your mp3 and then reset it afterwards or vice versa. This is just a typical problem of an mp3 and it solve it along the way by reading some of this manual that ill provide for you. be sure that you have pdf reader installed on your computer to able to read this. it also include their hotline.

When it is like that you need to start recovery mode, then to format the disk from recovery mode.

To go to recovery mode:

enable the hold key then plug the sansa to your computer while at the same time you hold down the record button.
You release the button only after you see the "welcome the recovery mode" on screen. Then you restore the sansa.fmt file, re-format the drive or downgrade firmware to a previous version.v01.02.12a.

This will fix it;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

Hi try to do the following things... i think it might be an internal memory corruption might have occurred on your player, and would need to format your player through "Disk Management" (I'm assuming you have Windows XP or Vista).
(1) First, set your player to MSC mode by navigating your menu as follows:
Menu >> Settings >> USB Mode
Choose "MSC"
(2) Open "Computer Management" by right-clicking on the "My Computer" icon, then selecting "Manage"
(3) Your "Computer Management" window should be divided into 2 panes. On the left pane, click on "Disk Management"
(4) On the upper right pane of "Disk Management", you should find the drive letter corresponding to your Sansa E250. The lower section also contains the drive # pertaining to your E250. Right-click on either drive letters pertaining to the E250 and select "Format". Follow the on-screen prompts. Make sure that the "Quick Format" checkbox remains un-checked.
In general, Disk Management is more the effective tool for formatting your E250 and assuming the format processing completed without any errors, you may now use your player as you would.
You may want to set the mode of your MP3 player back to "MTP" (if you're going to download subscription songs -- otherwise, just leave it in MSC mode) by navigating your menu as follows:
Menu >> Settings >> USB Mode
Choose "MTP" In case you get the error "Unable to Complete Format" or the format process is unable to complete, you may want to call the SanDisk Tech Support guys for more advanced troubleshooting

thank u....

May be you have put the batteries in wrong way. Check the battery placement.

formating the player on recovery mode doesnot fix it because the
16-MB-format is a different partition. your database is not here.
create a blank file with filename "sansa.fmt", put the player to
recovery mode and drag-drop this file. the file will tell the device to
format itself after you unplug it.

    edit:

another option is to downgrade the e200 to v01.02.12a. this one is easier. you just have to put the player on recovery mode then execute the file. works 100%

I assume, if you are using this sansa.fmt file, you would need to change the file type.

    I
tried this earlier when my player froze, and it did not work, because
it said sansa.fmt.txt so I fooled around with it. I finally got it to
work, but I had to change the file type setting, to all files, and then
    it created the sansa.fmt file.

You can delete the tracks manually using either of the method:

In MSC mode, connect to your computer, go to My Computer, and delete the music file(s) in Removable Disk/Music directory or the second Removable Disk (microSD).

In MTP mode, connect to your computer, select NO ACTION, go to My Computer and delete the music file(s) in Sansae200/Media/Music folder20

Try to Reset your sansa  ---
You can do this by holding down the Power/Menu button for about 15 seconds. After the reset, any changes you have made to it during its last use will be lost.
try this and then let me know if it works.
    Thanks

    Then Try this method......
The Sansa sometimes corrupts files. It seems to be a persistent firmware bug.

    1. Put the Sansa in MSC mode.
    2. Connect it to PC.
    3. In My Computer, see what the driveletter is E:Sansa 250.
    4. Start/Run and type in chkdsk E:/f (or whatever the driveletter is). Windows will check the disk, fix (that's the /f) bad files by deleting them and ask if you want to keep copies of the bad files. You don't need to.

HOW CAN I SYNC MUSIC TO MY SANSA E250..?

To sync music you have to first open the Rhapsody music player (If you don't have Rhapsody you have to download it fom the Sansa disk or you cannot add music). From there you can drag the songs you want from your library onto the icon in the list on the left that says "Sansa e250". On that screen there is a bar at the bottom that tells you how much space is left on your Sansa.

Hope this helps!

WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE MUSIC FILES

The songs have to be in the right format. iTunes format is not compatible. If you do not buy a Rhapsody subscription and refresh the device through Rhapsody on the computer you initially synced it to, those songs will become useless as well over time. I would download songs in mp3 format only - whether paid or unpaid. They will never give you grief.

You have to renew if you want to keep the ones that are on there now. Better to delete them all, and get a free music svc like Limewire.

Synchronize to continue your music subscribtion???????

You have to synchronize your Sansa to a computer that has a current subscription to Rhapsody, and you have to sync the Sansa to that same computer at least once every 30 days, or the Rhapsody songs will stop working. Use a different music service that is free, or convert all of the songs to Mp3 format to get around the problem. If you get a subscription to another music svc, then you must maintain a current subscription with whatever new svc you choose as well.

Sansa E280 MP3 Player has problem synchronising playing songs

Make sure your Rhapsody subscription is paid and up to date - if it ever lapses you will lose the songs. also, check out the License tab under properties for the songs that failed - the license may have a fixed-term/expiration date and can no longer be synced without paying $$. Rhapsody sucks like that.

My sansa e250

hey smart ones(sarcasm) why dont u just buy the Sansa e250v2

its pretty much the same thing, just without rhapsody, thats how me and my friends are, i bought the one with rhapsody features(Sansa e250R) so i can play the songs that i bought and get free music channels for it, where my friend on the other hand has the Sansa e250v2 without rhapsody, u can still use rhapsody but u cant get free music channels for it, or u could also download best buy music manager or rhapsody and set up a free 31-day account for it to stop saying that for a while, plus if u got ur Sansa e250R from Best Buy, they can replace it, or trade u the sansa that u have with the rhapsody-free one(without rhapsody)

Will eventually lose songs downloaded?

Okay, here's what i've encountered:  songs that I downloaded on rhapsody, without purchasing, only lasted about 7-10 days unless i reconnected.  once my trial period ended, i lost all the songs.  songs that i've purchased i've had no trouble (although if you load them to the sansa immediately after download, you may get the same message.  its best to wait at least 24 hours).  good luck
