Cannot rotate the Dewalt 708 mod 3 saw horizontally

I have a Dewalt 708 Mod 3 saw, 5 years old moderate to light use. When I try to rotate the saw to cut a simple angle the trigger depressed on the turntable but the turntable will not turn and the trigger does not return to locked position. As a novice repair person, I would suspect the trigger assembly that unlocks the turnable has failed but I don't know what the assembly is to check.

I cleaned the turntable a second time after reading your suggestion and I am back in business. Thanks!

If you have loosened the handle a little and pulling the adjustment trigger didn't allow for movement, you may need to remove and clean the turn table.(don't forget, the handle must be loosened for the turn table to rotate)

How do I calculate the mod function in my casio fx 100ms model

It seemed there is no Modulo function in fx-100MS. But Mod is just the remainder of a division operator.

So if you have A mod B = C, divide A by B, subract the remaining whole number, and multiply it by B to get C.

Example:

7 mod 4 = 3

In the Calculator:

7 / 4 = 1.75, then 1.75 - 1 = 0.75. Then 0.75 x 4 = 3

Hi my dewalt 708 lx sliding mitre saw, 110v, seems to only have half the power(speed) that it should have, and cannot cut timber on a compound cut because of this, any suggestions please.

I have heard complaints that this saw does not do well on angled cuts because of its low power. Try running a shorter and/or thicker extension cord and checking your input voltage. That's about all I can think of, hope it helps.

Dewalt power saw wiring diagram for trigger switch dw-708 type 4 wire colors to swith positions.

The Switching should go like this

(single letters denote wire color)

Y---o o---R

B---o o---B

The contacts where the black wires attach are the points on the switch that break when continuity is checked.

I need a switch for an old Craftsman Sabre Saw Mod. 315.17180. Sears says they no longer carry that part.

Craftsman doesnt carry parts for tools once they hit ten years old. However, you can bypass the switch - that is remove it and just connect the two wires together. Then plug it into any power bar that has a switch.

Reciprocating saw stops reciprocating

your missing a tooth on a large round gear in the gearbox.

when the gear on the engine rotates into the position where the little engine gear spins because there is no tooth to come into contact with the engine runs but the gearbox doesnt spin, hence no reciprocation, but engine runs.

if you bump the blade it will start going again, but when you cut it will stop offasionally in mid cut. you can repair this but stop using it the engine gear will be destroyed otherwise

I have a dewalt dw303 that you can use for parts, I need a new trigger or something the motor is dead and I found a new saw. go to craigslist.org, rochester ny tools section and look for dewalt dw303 that is my listing. for ten bucks ill sell you all the gears you need. i think it is close to the same model, i am sure it is the same gearbox.

try opening your gearbox, im positive that is what is wrong.
