I'm not an expert with plasma's but I repaired a 42" version of your set. It was a faulty Y sustain board. I would start with checking the fuses on the Y sustain (should be on the left side of the set under the steel cross member) and on the Z sustain( right side of the set).
Tries tv unplug replug it back like an hour later for a tv resetting itself. The HDMI (2) port might be working again.Just used the PS3 game system only conennected it in the different tv ports of for the HDMIS ports provided by the tv.U know this wright? The PS3 game system play all this funsctions.CD-Audio only,DVD movies and old PS1 games, some PS3 system may,may not support and play old PS2 games,All Blu Ray movies and All PS3 Blu Ray games.
What you need to do is hook up your PS3 to a different tv. Then in Display setting on the PS3 change it to 480p. Hook it up to your vizio and while on the ps3, change it back to 1080p. Most Vizios don't have a Progressive scan that adjusts to the output settings of the PS3 (or other device) .
I am a TV repair technician and what you are experiencing with your plasma and PS3 is a HDMI compatibility problem. The Philips plasma and the PS3 electronic handshaking (EDID) are not right. This happens alot with an older version of HDMI like 1.1(Philips Plasma) and a newer version of HDMI 1.3 (PS3). A tv firmware or PS3 firmware update will not resolve the problem. I would recommend using the HD component video cables and that should work just fine for playing High Definition BluRay movies.
TV was on with no picture problem. Left the room and when I returned the picture was very dim. Turned system off and turned back on. Picture didn't change, but heard a loud pop from the back of the TV.
