The left click key (bottom left) key on my HP EliteBook 8460p is not working. There are four rectangular buttons surrounding the mousepad, I usually use the bottom left to navigate/select. I followed your directions to get my mousepad working, so I hope this works.

Hi,
You
might have disabled the touchpad accidentally. If the touchpad is
disabled it is indicated by a yellow LED on upper left corner of the
touchpad and when the TouchPad is active, the light is off.
To turn the TouchPad on, quickly double-tap the TouchPad off indicator (the yellow LED).
Hope it helps!

Right click on my computer, click manage, click on device manager to the left, go to mice and other pointing devices, find your touchpad right click on it and click disable.
SOURCE: Fn (function) key not working
A good check of whether the Fn key is working is to display the system information as follows...
1. briefly press Fn key, and then briefly press the Esc key
or alternatively...
2. Press and hold down the Fn key, briefly press the Esc key, and then release both at the same time.
This should display the version of the system BIOS as the BIOS date or system ROM version number.
If this doesn't happen, then either one or both Fn and Esc keys are not working. In any case since your laptop is new, it should be covered by a 30-day exchange policy from the place of purchase and you should just take it back for an exchange. If you can't get it exchanged and the purchase was on your credit card, you should have purchase coverage from the credit card company as well.
