Problem regarding the write protection of pendrive

Sir, i am not able to delete files from my pendrive nor am i able to format. every time i try to delete or format, a window pops up saying that ur pendrive is write protected and asks to remove the write protection. as such i have not found any write protection enabling or disabling method. please guide in this problem pen drive is write protected

Please look for a button or a slide switch in both sides of your drive...try switching it to other side and delete files again..

Your pendrive has Virus.Format all the data and then try copying or try removng the Virus through a Antivirus..

I have a kingston 4gb pendrive, currently i have a problem with new folder in it. i never put any new folder in it and there it appears to have 'new folder' thr. when i try to open it, it wont open, and...


best thing to is plug your pendrive into ur computer
now make a new folder onto ur desktop
right click on desktop-options -new folder
now right click in new folder -scroll down to rename -and type a name u can remember
now open your pendrive
pick all your folders you want to keep
hilte all except (new folder)now right click and pick desktop then the folder you named now give it a name at the bottom now press ok
once done
take out pendrive
now check your files are in the folder you renamed
now plug pendrive in right click -options format
once formatted your pen drive is empty and ready to use again

Pendrive is not formateing


look for a write-protect switch or tab...also check the attribute of the file, check if it is read only...you need to remove the read-only if it is set. Usually doing a full format will erase it

Windows was unable to complete the format

u dont need to buy a new one. You can download file shredder from here . do following things :
  1. download and install file shredder
  2. shred all the files which are in pendrive(after shredding u will not be able to recover them)
  3. then try to format it .,

Transcend 16GB Pendrive - error while copying


If your drive is partitioned with FAT32 then it cannot copy larger files. You have to format it using NTFS.

Have you checked the write protection notch on drive? Some systems also have usb write check feature. Try to disable it. If all fails try to format using HPflash. Download it from web and give it a try.

Remove Write Protection


Click > Start > Run > type "CMD" Then
Type "CHKDSK" and type the letter of your Pendrive and "/F".
chkdsk Q: /F > press Enter

another example:
chkdsk D: /f
chkdsk E: /f
D or E is the letter or your pendrive.
