SOURCE: TONER LIGHT STAYS ON WITH NEW TONER CARTRIDGE

Hi,

If the main problem is just the toner light on then what you could do after installing the new toner is resetting the printer. You could do that by powering the printer off, open the front cover (as if you were to replace the toner) with the front cover open and the printer off push and hold the two buttons on the printer and turn the printer on while holding down the buttons then once the bottom light stays on solid, release the two buttons and that should reset the printer.
Now if the toner light is blinking that means that you have reached the 30,000 page mark and the Photoconductor needs to be replaced. If that is not the case you can follow this link to a procedure where it will explain how to reset the Photoconductor. http://bit.ly/91SWS3

When you replaced the photoconductor, did you go through the procedure to reset the photoconductor counter ?

There's no chip on the photoconductor, so you need to reset this manually

    Photoconductor Reset Procedures:
    Step 1:
Open the front door and hold the
Cancel button until all lights begin to cycle.

Step 2: Close the front door. The warning

Step 3: Press Continue to resume printing.

    PC life warning

This means that the photoconductor has reached the end of life; on other printers, this is called the drum. It transfers the toner onto the page during printing so that it will fuse to the paper. The replacement is $70 from Lexmark: http://www.lexmark.com/US/en/view/Ink/Toner%20&%20Supplies/X340,-X342-Photoconductor-Kit/catId=cat170003-category&prodId=3599-product . The replacement should last about 30000 pages.

To replace the unit after you get a replacement, open the front cover and pull out the print cartridge assembly by the handle. Put the assembly on a flat surface. Remove the toner cartridge by pressing the button on the assembly and pulling on the handle. Open the new photoconductor kit and snap the toner cartridge into place on it. Then slide the new assembly into the printer. The steps are shown here: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=answerlink&userlocale=en_US&segment=SUPPORT&locale=en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsupport.lexmark.com%2Findex%3Fpage%3Dcontent%26id%3DSO4365%26actp%3Dsearch%26viewlocale%3Den_US&productCode=&answerid=16777217&searchid=1397780403561 .

After installing this, you need to reset the photoconductor counter.
With the printer on, open the front cover and press and hold Stop for 5+ seconds. When you see Resetting PC Counter release the Stop button. Close the front cover when prompted to do so.

If this doesn't clear the error, try powering off the printer for 10 seconds. Otherwise, try unplugging the printer for a minute to reset the internal memory. If the unit still doesn't reset the counter, it may need service. Contact Lexmark.

    I hope this helps.

The printer toner light is continuously flashing even after putting in a new cartridge

After installing a new cartridge and the blinking light is on Toner Low, it means that the photoconductor is almost full and should be replaced soon. Press and release the Continue button (green button) to clear the light sequence and continue processing the print job. If the light is still blinking, replace the photoconductor kit.
