Have been repairing similar professional machines. However i dont have the service manual for DSR1500. I have tried loading and unloading the tape in service support mode in advanced menuand tape loads normally. i have also checked the operation of the cassette compartment sensors in service mode and they are fine. However when I exit the service support menub and i try to use the machine normally, no voltage appears on the cassette compartment motor when the tape is inserted. the tape is therefore not loaded.

Since the device will be sent to Sony for repair definitely the cost will be higher as expected, but if you like you can check this link and contact them and ask how much will its cost for the repair for this unit I bet it will be much cheaper http://www.cwservice.com/sony.htm
most of no signal means dsr 11 or similar machines have dirty heads. When they get dirt sometimes, you can´t play a cassette and the machine turns off (with the cassette in).
I´ve tried several times to reload the cassette and I manage to make it work again.
with the cassette in and the machine off press at the same time power and fast forward.
When in fast forward press play and your head should be starting to be clean (takes 4 o 5 minutes
to get a clean picture). Normally the machine gives a code error like if it was a loading problem but
not nearly related
There should be smoe indication on the front of a problem. If not, then the load sequence is not completing and the unit should be sent in for service. These are pro decks that should only be serviced by trained personnel. There are a number of reasons why a taoe would not load. Without seeing the unit, it is extremely dificult to determine the cause. Are there any other details you can provide that might help me to determine possible causes? Can you observe the loading to see how far it gets?
most likely problem is a misadjusted exit guide post. cleaning would not solve the problem; if you have a service manual and know how to adjust the guide, you can do it yourself. otherwise, it's a job for a technician with the proper test equipment.
