The if the "bad sound" is coming from the speaker(s) it probably needs the output ic. If it is coming from the player itself check that the fans are working. F61 is an amp error code but a non-rotating or unplugged fan will also set it off.

I have the f61 code on a panasonic surround sound. should both fans spin on power up?

Pretty sure both fans should turn. If the unit senses the fan not turning, it will shut down as you are describing. Try taking the label off of the fan so you can see the bearing, and put a couple drops of oil in there. This sometimes get them to turn freely again.

Have problem with my Panasonic Model SC-HT790V. When I went to turn on my surrond sound received a code F61 what does this mean and how do I correct it

This is a protect code that means either the voltage regulator IC has a problem or the output amp IC is defective. Check with a local repair shop to get an estimate. The output amp pacs run between $75 and $95 for the part.

Crackling noise on sound system

This could be a defunct sound driver when it saw the sound speakers. Go to the device manager and go to the multimedia controller and delete it. Restart the machine, it should call for the correct drivers. If it says cannot find drivers, go to www.driversguide.com, sign up, then query for the correct drivers for your sound

This is a panasonic saht70 home theater whe turned on makes a clicking sound and does not go on shuts off immediatly sometime a loud sound from one of the speaker

Power supply may be burned out. These can be replaced but your local Panasonic service center will identify and correct any other lingering problems. (cooling, shorts, and general cleaning) Try thier support center website under the web address once you get on the main panasonic site.

Crackling from surrond sound

I have a SONY home theater4.gif system, HT-C800DP, there is a crackling sound when playing DVDs - it is almost as if the unit overheats. Is there any solution to this? Sometimes I cannot even finish a DVD as the noise gets very loud.
Thanks,
Cindy
