The cd shouldn't be making a noise, but your cd drive might be, there could be something wrong with it try to identify any cracks or marks on the cd, if there are any that may be the cause behind the program not responding. The loud hum you're hearing could be due to overheating, carefully check your computers temperature, if the cd is damage the loud hum may be produced due to the cd drive overworking itself trying to read a damaged disc. Hope this helps.

Frigidaire Side by Side Refrigerator. How to stop the loud humming noise coming from it please?

Question edited for clarity.

It sounds like the compressor is struggling / overheating / failing. When was the last time your stripped the back out and removed all the fluff and debris? It overworks the compressor and gets red hot when the condenser coils get blocked. The struggling compressor causes the humming. Turn it off, keep the doors closed and vacuum it all out. Clean underneath and you might as well clean the floor and walls around it as the plan is to leave it disconnected for 1 to 2 hours to cool down and settle the refrigerant gas/liquid. Some other ideas below.

The evaporator fan motor circulates air over the coils to help keep things cool inside your fridge. If this motor starts to go bad, it will make a buzzing sound as it struggles to circulate air. You'll need to replace the evaporator fan motor to fix this problem.

Sudden low gas milage, loud hum noise 2005 dodge caravan

I would get berryman and sea foam and do an induction cleaning on the intake. It sounds like running low quality fuel may have caused the intake manifold to get gummed up causing low flow through the egr valve.

Static problem

You can try a laser cleaning kit to see if that will help, generally when the laser gets to that point it is time to replace the laser pickup assembly or just replace the whole unit due to cost over runs in repair.

Loud humm when the drive channel is on

I suspect the power supply has an issue. Most likely bad filter capacitors. This could cause "motorboating" where power is drawn and supply voltage collapses and then recovers repeatedly.

Time for the repair shop. The parts cost should be nominal... labor... well...

My macbook won't read cd's or dvd's it sounds like it is reading it for 10-15 seconds then spits them out. I have already done the apple, option, p, r, and Power button three times and waited for the wierd...

Sounds like a dirty lens on the reader.... Not familiar with the mac's drive, does the laser assembly come out with a drawer for the cd?... or is it a slot load?. if its a drawer, clean the lens, if it's a slot, try a cleaning disk. failing this, you could have a faulty reader... Ho-Hum...

Ilo DVDR05 Vibration and loud humming noise

i experienced that problem before.one cause is the cd itself.there cd's that are too thick so the motor has hard time rotating that makes vibrating sound.the other ,don't put something over your unit.the cover is touching the holder of the cd and makes a sound.just do the necessary things to be done like don't put something on top your unit.if not, then a manual analysis of the tech is the last option.

HI. I have a Whirlpool Microwave (MH6141XKB). It will not reheat the food and makes a louder "humming" sound than normal. Other than that, everything works fine. Please advise. Brent

The magnatron in your oven has gone out and will need replaced!( This is the device that heats up your food) If everything is working and your food is not getting hot 99.9 percent of the time its the Magnatron or its fuse! The loud humming is also a big clue the MAGNATRON has gone bad!
