Best thing to do courtesy of Toshiba is to try and update your BIOS by going to this page:

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1209157&rpn=PSAA0U&modelFilter=A100-S8111TD&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663&selModel=1209157|PSAA0U

The file you want to download is the one that says BIOS, it will be the 4th file down that you want. Download it and run it from windows, it will update your BIOS and may take a while. Once it tells you its complete, reboot the computer and try going into the BIOS then and see what happens. Should take care of the problem as long as the BIOS wasn't completely corrupted.

Does the BIOS recognize your hdd? If it does, you're OS is corrupt. Can't get to the BIOS? Take out the battery, press the power button for 1 minute, after the minute is up, poor the battery back, turn on the laptop. This is something more like a reset, if there was a problem with the BIOS, this should fix it. If it works, go to the BIOS and check if the hdd is listed. If it isn't, then there is a problem with your hard disk. I'll be more than glad to help you out, just let me know in the comment section. Best of luck.

Dont know the bios password

You do not need to pull apart your laptop to clear the BIOS password.
This WEB site shows you how to remove the BIOS password.

How to unlock toshiba satellite laptop BIOS and HDD

If you are the original owner Toshiba will reset the bios for a fee and it is not cheap, they may include the HDD reset, if not! www.ebay.com type password, or hard drive password. I would check bios password, probably a lot cheaper if you can find the right seller, also check www.download.com some software may be free.

What i did when this happened to me was to locate the motherboard battery, removed it for about 30 secs and put it back in. Doing this will reset your bios.

Make sure to unplug the machine first before doing so.

Hope this helps!

I cant remember my master password so my computer wont start up. i dont know how it happened but when i turn it on it asks for a password before it boots up. its a toshiba satellite model number...

You can remove a BIOS password by removing the CMOS battery for about 1/2 hour. Find a manual on your system to help, if you don't know where it is.

This is a known issue with some newer Toshiba laptops. The laptop can set the BIOS password on its own and I believe it happens because of a glitch in the BIOS.

Be sure to go to the Toshiba website and get all the updates for your model, once you're back in.
