Fiji finepix s7000

Hi,

I have had this camera for a few years and it has been excellent. Recently when taking pics the image flickers and horizontal lines appear across the image both in the viewfinder and the recorded image. I have replaced the batteries with new rechargeable ones and this has made no difference. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this?Hi, i want know if it is the CCD itself or it is the power board forthe CCD, if you really know the answer can you tell me the partlocation i must change or repair a cold solder.

tanks a lot

Horizontal lines (like blinds) noise in picture is due to internal shutter in lens mechanism that is not working accurately as per shutter speed and causing horizontal noise in picture result. CCD Imager is just fine in your camera.

Hi. From past experience I would say that these symptoms suggest the early stages of CCD failure. It usually starts with lines etc as you describe and progresses into wavy, blurry pictures or partial pictures and eventually the ccd just goes black. If it is CCD failure, the camera will usually still work when viewing pics that are already on the card.

Sounds to me like the software has got corrupted, or there is a fault in the internal memory - the video may not use the same frame buffer.
Try doing a "factory reset", there should be an option to do this in the menu.
    thanks

Wont take a pic says memory card full when viewing memory card it says no images

The camera can only see images if they are in the folder, the camera placed them in when they were taken. Try formatting the card in the camera.
Menu/OK, Setup, Format, OK.
All files will be deleted in the process, so make sure you have saved all images first.

Need FinePix S7000 Tripod

They [ cameras and tripods]all have a standard screw fitting.
So all cameras will fit all tripods.
The only factors therefore to consider is- weight[As it is a small digicam] you will not need a heavy weight one and the depth of your purse.

Best bet take the camera along to a store and try a few.
If it is not to be a surprise take Hubby too to try them out for himself. ;-}

The vertical lines sound like charge spilling between the CCD pixels. Check with Nicon, they are probably aware of the problem. Maybe they will agree to replace it.

Camera shuts down when I go to take pic mode

Ahhhhh! I have the same problem occuring!! I cleaned all of the battery terminals and replaced the batteries, and STILL have this problem, although not as frequent. It always happens when I take the best pics, the image shows on the screen for a fraction of a second, and then the whole camera shuts off. Again, I can play back images with no problem. What's the deal here?? It's become so frustrating that I just want to throw the camera in the garbage. It has been such a good camera up until this point. PLEASE, someone help us here!!!
