http://www.laptop-repair.info/laptop_keyboard_repair.html the steps to remove the keyboard is to remove the hinges cover first ..than the screws holding the keyboard in place (under the hinges cover) ..than slide it an inch forward (toward the screen ) ..and after that lift it up ...remove the ribbon from the plug ...and this is all ..replace it if you have the possibility ..or ..remove all buttons ...and clean it up ...and dry it well before replace it and see if it work s..If the damage is permanent you need a new one and the procedure is just the reverse.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IN1RKtiFC8
The IBM error 301 POST code means the keyboard is not responding correctly.
You could have a stuck key, or the keyboard cable is faulty and not making proper electrical contact.
You could have a faulty keyboard controller.
You may have a faulty keyboard which may had some fluid spilt on the keys.
Try clean and reconnect the keyboard cable.
If this doesn't work try connecting an USB keyboard and see if this keyboard functions correctly.
If none of these work you have a motherboard problem. The Thinkpad 600 is a very old laptop and it would not be worth fixing. I suggest putting your money towards a new laptop.
Power and liquids do not mix I don't think you can fix it This has happen to a friend of mine and we could not save the data on the hard drive Dell laptops hav some protection I also know someone else that took the keyboard out clean are the stuff out and left for a while and turn on and the laptop worked for a month then I think the liquid that could not be cleaned out took hold I would claim insurance as extra are on my house insurance
