There isn't any solution for these kind of problems. the only solution is buying another pen drive. if you have problem in your pen drive just replace it

How to boot my laptop into usb drive

You have not specified your operating system. However I will explain how to do it with windows 7. First you have to create a bootable flash drive. Do it as follows
Format USB flash drive to NTFS format(For Win XP only. Vista users can directly format the USB drive to NTFS format) In your Windows, go to Control panel -> system -> hardware -> Device manager.
Under the disk drives section, right click on the USB storage drive and select Properties.
device-properties.pngGo to the Policies tab, select optimize for performance. Click OK.
device-policy.pngOpen your Windows Explorer, you should see the USB storage drive in the inventory. Right click and select Format. Select NTFS from the drop down bar. Click Start.
format-ntfs.pngFor Windows XP,
Download MBRWizard. Extract the zipped files to your desktop.
Open a command prompt (Start -> Program -> Accessories -> Command Prompt).

cd Desktop/MBRWiz2.0/
MBRWiz /list
Record the USB flash drive disk number
mbrwiz-list.pngMake the USB drive active.

mbrwiz /disk=X /active=1
For Windows Vista,
On the Start menu, navigate to the command prompt entry. Right-click and select Run as administrator.
vista-command-prompt.pngType

diskpart
list disk
Record the disk number of your USB flash drive.
vista-diskpart.pngSelect the USB disk.

select disk X (X is the drive number of the USB flash drive)
List the current partition. Record the partition number.

list partition
Select the current partition and make it active.

select partition Y (Y is the partition number of the USB flash drive)
active
list-partition-vista.png Creating bootable USB flash driveDownload Windows 7 iso (32-bit) file to your desktop (The download link is no longer valid).
Download and install WinRAR.
Right-click on the Windows 7 iso file and select Extract files. Extract the files to a folder (you can name the folder any name you want, but for illustration purpose, I name it win-7) in your desktop.
extract-win-7.pngIn your command prompt, cd to the windows 7 folder.

cd Desktop/win-7 (Change the destination to the folder that you have extracted)
cd boot
bootsect /nt60 X: (X is the drive latter of your USB drive )
bootsect-success.pngNow, copy all the files from the Windows 7 folder to the USB flash drive.
Reboot the computer. Remember to change the first boot device to your USB drive in the BIOS.
You should be able to install Windows 7 from your USB flash drive now.

How can i retrieve my original windows xp home edtion for my sony vaio pcg fx55g/bp, since it was formatted?

Hello seltiel_alle
Use your recovery disc . If you don't have one or if it fails , Xp is gone for ever .
If you are currently under Windows 7 Ultimate , or Pro , or Enterprise , you can download and install a virtual version of XP . You can get it from here : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx and it's free .

Recovery disk

Your description tells me that you have a bad XP installation, but you do not need a recovery disk, unless you wish to use that bad installation.
Because the installation is bad, I would just delete the partition and start over again.
If you have formatted your hard disk in order to install a new Operating System (I assume Vista), one of the steps of the install detects that an existing installation of Windows does exist (XP in your case), and it asks you whether you wish to use this existing install and overwrite it, to install to a different directory, or to delete the partition and start anew.
I'm confused by your statement about trying to install Outlook after reformatting your hard drive. That cannot be done directly. First you need to install Windows (any version) before you can install either Office or Outlook.
If you're installing Windows from a CD or DVD, allow it to go through the steps until you get to the prompt for you to use the existing installation or not. Here you have the chance to delete the previous XP installation and continue with the new install, whatever that is.

Cannot format my pendrive

Why don't you boot up with the OS bootable CD with the pen drive attached. In DOS mode give the format command to the Pen Drive. It should work. You can use the win98 boot CD, it has more DOS commands available than the later Bootable OS's. Alternatively log in as administrator and use the disk management tool to delete the partion than make it a logical drive and format it as you like......sodeep
