Question about Garmin StreetPilot C330 GPS Receiver

3 Answers

Street Pilot c330 GPS won't let me input an address.

When I try to input an address, the first question it asks me is: "In What State is the Address?." The problem occurs when I tap on the "Spell State" button. As soon as I tap the "Spell State" button, the "" screen where you are supposed to spell the state, quickly flashes and goes to the "Select State" screen without letting me input a name. When I tap on the "Back" button on the "Select State" screen it does take me back to the "" screen, but as soon as I tap on a letter, it then goes to the "Select State" screen with no results.

I tried reinstalling the firmware (version 6.10) but it didn't fix the problem. Can I fix this issue with a reset, and if so, how would I go about resetting the unit?

I also have the same problem and I am also at version 5.3 (like guest) I have reset the unit several times with no change. This unit has been powered off since 2/9/09 and worked flawlessly then. The unit still has favorites in memory and they appear intact. This problem occured immediately upon power-up yesterday 4/4/09 -----this smells like a deliberate intrusion from a higher authority.

I know this is an old post but I just had this problem and fixed it on my c330 by doing the following...menu...tools...map....map info.....make sure the city navigator north America box is checked, and then back out to the home screen and go from there. Works like a charm now.

Click on tool icon on lower right corner. Touch Map icon. Touch
map Info icon in center of screen. Touch City Navigator North America NT v8 icon so that the box is checked. Then click on back until you reach "Where To?" screen. If "Touch City Nav..." box is not checked, then you cannot input state.

Press and hold the lower right corner of the DISPLAY when powering up - the unit will ask if you want to reset your data - answer yes and it will ask you to set your language and time zone and it will come back into use.

I have the same problem. Interestingly enough, doing a full reset doesn't seem to fix the problem. I'm on the latest firmware. Perhaps a rollback would help, but I'm not quite sure how to do that.
I contacted garmin, and they're going to take a look at it if I send it in, but I haven't had a chance yet.
