Please check the port in which you are putting the headphone is correctly configured. Secondly, you may please check if there is any audio enhancement software ( like realtek audio etc) loaded on your laptop. if yes, go to the options of that software and correct the things. There is no problem with your hardware. The settings have to be corrected only.

Hi i am having trouble with plugging in my ear phones. I have plugged in them, but no voice s coming form them, instead it is coming from my laptop's speakers even if it is plugged in. I have checked

It sounds like you're plugging into the wrong jack. You need to plug in to the one that has the little symbol that looks like headphones.

I cant hear anyone on skype

Are your speakers plugged in? Is your volume turned on? Try restarting your computer. Try wearing headphones. Make sure the other user has microphones plugged in and they are not muted. If you are wearing headphones, set it to the default device. If you not using headphones, set the system speakers to the default device. If you do not know how to this, google is your friend. Hope this helps.

Whenever I start the computer, I dont hear any sound from window and if I try to play music from my media player, no sound at all. I can only listen to music or sound via headphone only. I have downloaded...

most system has seperate audio ports for the speaker and the headphone but they are interchangeable. try plugging the speaker on the audio your using for the headphone. if your already using the same audio jack then try using another speaker, but since you mentioned that the headphone works then its possible you might need to replace your speaker

The speakers on my laptop do not have any sound. I can hear sound only when I plug in headphones. Is there a way to switch speakers? I have a Compag Presario v2000

You could have damaged the sensor in the 3.5 mm headphone jack so your computer does not realize that there are no headphones plugged in. If thats is the case you will have to have the sound card replaced. Another problem could be that the driver is messed up if you recently updated drivers roll back the sound cards driver or update it. Finally you can simply hook up old non usb speakers that use the headphone jack.

Cannot hear sounds through headphones

if you are able to hear normally from the speakers and not from the headphones possible reasons could be:
the audio is muted or very low
there is a mute switch on the headphone that is turned on
the headphone is not firmly plugged in or is in the wrong site eg microphone
hope it helps
please inform if it helps..

Dell 610 lptop - haedphone not working,

First try uninstalling the sound drivers from the device manager, then reboot. It will find and reinstall them, then check Dell's support site for updated sound drivers. If you find updated drivers you will need to use the update button for the device in the device manager. If this doesn't work, then it may be a faulty headphone jack. The jack should override the speakers when the headphones are plugged into it. If you can still hear the speakers with the headphones plugged in then the jack is faulty and needs replaced. If the jack does override the speakers or if you get some static then it could be that the jack has come loose or has a loose or broken wire. The only other thing is try a different set of headphones, sometimes laptops get picky and one set will work and yet another set may not.

Speaker's problem

Unplug the headphones, as having them plugged in usually disables the systems speakers. If you have already done this, then adjust your systems sound volume via the speaker icon in your systray, just to the left of your system clock.
