Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Sony cyber shot dsc-s500 is not turning on..

I have put new batteries in. Each time I try to use the camera the power button lights up and then turn offs really quick. I tried using rechargeable batteries and other brand batteries. I have waited a whole without them in there and tried and nothing.

I'm not sure if this will help but you might want to try removing the memory card and powering it back up. If the camera stays on than there is probably something wrong with the card. Try a new card and see if that helps.

The Sony cyber shot DSC-S500 is not getting powered on. I also bought new Everready AA rechargable batteries. But still it just goes on and shuts down in a second. What to so

if you are so technicaly inclined you need to open the camera and replace the button battery on the board. the symptoms of your problem are due to a boot test regarding the hardware clock, since the button battery is dead it can't keep time and shuts off before it frys its self.

My Sony cyber-shot DSC-S500 the cover for the battery compartment will not close completely...and even when I hold it closed the camera fails to come on every time

This problem can be caused by the batteries installed incorrectly. The battery closest to the outside edge of the camera should have the "+" button down and the inside battery should have the "+" button up.

Power button flashes green when pressed to turn on but camera doesn't turn on.

Have you tried changing the batteries? If not try holding the On/Off button for 5 seconds.

Power on n off

sounds like a battery power problem or problem with the terminal of the camera ; you know the point where the battery meets the camera.
I would recommend a service center

If you open the camera up, whick I know is an intricate task, and take the screen down but don't unplug it, at the right bottom their is something that resembles a watch battery, if you can figure out how to get it off and find a replacement it will be fixed... This battery serves a a sort of memory power, even though you have batteries, this battery keeps the memory for the camera's software, so inturn without it the camera is dead in the water. this is fixable!
