Glue dots are ideal for scrapbooking as they are acid free, so won't cause any damage to your photos or paper etc and they are really strong. You can stick all sorts of things into your album without any mess. I love using glue dots when I make my albums as it's just saved me from all that dripping glue.
You really need double sided sticky tape for scrapbooking. You can buy a tape runner and this allows you to smoothly apply the tape and then release and cut it. You don't need to use much at all to get the item to be firmly stuck in a scrapbook. I would recommend buying a good quality tape and tape runner as your most basic starter kit.
