Question about Coleman Propane Forced Air Heater w/Electronic Ignition (50,000-80,000 BTU)
I have an Evcon house furnace in a hall way enclosure inside my house. It is model #BGM08012CX. The pilot light will not ignite unless you push up on a cable that connects to a brown colored plastic box inside the front cover, but on the front of the furnace. The other end of the cable goes to what looks like the incoming gas valve. Unless tension is kept on the cable close to the connection, the gas will shut off and no heat. I guess it is just a bad connection but can that brown box be replaced and if so, where do I get one? Or do I have to replace the whole furnace? Thank you for any help you can give me.
No you do not have to replace the whole furnace, the bad news though since it has something to do with the gas, This is the ignition module (or brown box), you have to be a certified HVAC-R Technician or company to buy the part or do the repair
