Question about RCA D52W19 52" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Problem with power up and then turns off shortly thereafter.

A month ago my RCA D52W17 turned off unexpectedly. I unplugged it and replugged it. The issue went away until today. The television will boot up if left to sit for a while after powering down. It will run for 5 to 15 minutes before turning off again. I have looked for cp150 to check for swelling and can't find it. I would like to know what board it is on and possibly where to find a replacement cap. Any direction is appreciated.

Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

This is a power supply problem and they are hard to find because they are not made anymore. I had to replace mine several months ago and it took me a month of research to locate someone who had one.

I have a RCA D52W17 rear projection T.V. When I turned the power on the green light flashed 3 times then shut off and now it won't go on at all.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. 3 blinks in your RCA D52W17 rear projection are caused due to 3 capacitors (CP114, 120 and 150) which are located on the deflection board. If any of these capacitors goes bad you’ll have to replace them with the exact same ones. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Not working

It sounds like 2 separate problems:

1) One of the cooktop lights may have shorted. Sometimes this happens and causes damage (repairable) to the control circuit board. Sometimes it will result in the lights or fan not working, or not turning on.

2) You may have a bad magnetron. See this FixYa solution.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
