Did you have a firmware upgrade? if you can detail your current firmware I might be able to help you. There are higher custom firmware (CFW) that has known issues with UMD reading. Don't worry, it's about your UMD, you can even try the same UMD to your friend's PSP and Im pretty it will run. It's your firmware that needs to be changed. However, you may need to downgrade first before upgrading to a new firmware again to solve your problem. Please get back here when you have the details...
This is how I managed to fix the psp error 80020148. Ok I found some program online that works on my 3.40 OE-A and it rips the UMD games for me. but when I went to play them the "The game could not be started. (80010002)" message came up. Then I tried to play the original game (UMD DISK) I got this message "The game could not be started. (80020148)". So I went online here is what i found...... TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOLLOW THESE STEPS: 1. Goto Recovery Menu (turn off then hold R and turn on)2. Configuration -> Use NO-UMD (Disable it)3. Go all the way back to main menu4. Advanced -> Advanced Configuration -> (Disable all of them)
Hi, Below 5.50 version support crack when update occurs it only would play original games with the help of UMD disc but there is one thing more, install chicken hen on your PSP and then you can play all the downloaded games. Thanks
can you confirm that other games will load if yes could be the game umd look in the light see if the cd part of the umd has any marks dust fingerprints ect if your other games wont load either it could be the laser inside the psp if that is the case email me and ill point you in the right direction but if the psp still has warenty take it back to ware you bought it firstname.lastname@example.org
r u running a cfw? if so you are getting this error because there is a setting in the hidden recovery menu that is set to
require a UMD disc to be in the PSP when it attempts to load.
Turn off the PSP not just on standby but totally off by pushing up on the power button then hold the R button down while turning on the
system. You will be in the Recovery mode/Configuration menu. Choose
configuration, then go to the 5th option which is the UMD MODE, yours is probably set to "normal - UMD required press X once. This will
switch it to "NO UMD". Then go back up to BACK and press X and then "Exit". Once you
restart you should be able to load the ISOs, CSOs etc. without getting
the 80020321 error.
hope this helps
Update the system,....Alot of UMD games hang when they try to updeate from disc..If you download the update via internet and install it from the memory stick duo you should have no problem playing your game, the system will see that the firmware is up to par for the umd and will not do the system check so no lag time with loads...good luck hope this helps
