Gas dryer no heat

I have a LG dryer DLG8388WM. I can see the igniter come on and then go off. There is no heat. I am unable to remove the from panels to get the heating chamber to look farther. Can you tell me what is happening and how to remove the front panels to access the parts in question?

Does the igniter glow but it won't light? Remove the front lower panel and watch it.

I have an LG dryer model DLG8388WM and it doesn't heat up. From looking at this website it seams to be the coil attached to the gas valve. Is this easy to install?

This is a very common problem amongst gas dryers and although some dryers vary, the coils (usually 2) are easily accessible near the front of the machine behind the bottom panel. They are inexspensive and certainly worth trying prior to calling out a repairman. Be sure to unplug the machine when installing the coils. They are generally held down by 1 bracket on the top by 1 or 2 screws and have a plug on each.

I have a DLG8388WM LG dryer i have changed the ignitor and the thermostat twice now it still will not stay lit.it lites then goes out within a second what else could it be.

It's common for a problem like this with a gas dryer to be cause by a bad coil on the gas valve.
This is often a simple and cheap repair, but I looked up you model number and I don't believe you can get a replacement coil on this model LG dryer so you would then need to replace the gas valve, part # 5221EL2002A

My LG gas dryer (DLGX7188RM) runs, but it does not heat. the vent is completly cleared.

Because you have a gas dryer, your problem may be caused by the ignition panel. This is the part that heats to a certain temperature which ignites the pilot and causes the dryer to heat. It is a simple repair. If you're skilled in these sort of things, you could probably do it yourself. If not,we had ours repaired several years ago for a very reasonable price. I hope this helps you. If it does, please return to Fixya and rate my advice! Thanks!

My LG gas dryer is not heating up. I have cleaned the vents out, but, it is still not working.

Since you have a gas dryer, your problem is probably caused by the ingition panel.Generally, with a gas dryer, there is an ignition device that heats to a specific temperature and this causes the gas to ignite. When this electric ignition fails to work, the gas will not ignite and there will be no heat. I had this happen and had to call a professional. It was a simple matter of installing a new ignition device and it worked perfectly for years. I hope this helps! If it is a new dryer, check to see if this part might be covered under warranty. If this helps solve your problem, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice.

LG DLG8388WM won't heat ...

It could be a clog in the supply pipes inside the dryer itself or a faulty regulator your best bet it to find a local repair shop as dealing with any gas appliance without proper knowledge can destroy your appliance or worse you PS: do you smell gas when it runs if so then it could be the igniter is faulty!

LG DRYER DLE2532W DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

DLE2532W is an electric heat model. (a gas model would be a DLG......) To get a rear control LG dryer apart: Open door and remove two phillips head screws at the 5 and 7 o'clock positions. Use a putty knife to release the clips holding the top panel to the dryer front by pushing the clips in at the seam of the dryer top and front, a couple inches in from each side. Swing top back. Remove two phillips head screws at the top, allowing front panel to pull forward. Unplug drum light and door switch and drum sensor plugs, allowing front panel to be completely removed and set aside. Now, look at the burner area at the lower right. Behind the gas valve you will find a small (about dime sized) high limit thermostat on the left side of the burner cone. It has two wires attached and has a small pin in the center of it. (Only on gas models) Push the pin in.
Now, if that get's you ignition again, CORRECT VENTING ! Get rid of flexible vent material. (use only rigid aluminum vent pipe and elbows) Clean out vent pipes and outside vent hood. Outside vent hood should be the kind with a four inch flap for the opening, not a two inch flap. Tripping of the high limit thermo is almost always caused by inadequate air flow.
