I checked this model mothboard, there are two ram sticks( no on board ram), you just take out ram sticks and clean their pins, or change two ram sticks each other. still boot need touch ram area, you may see there is a bridge chips near there, might be disconnection from the bridge so finally you need send to do BGA(hardware repair)

Unplug the laptop, remove the battery, remove the memory cover and reseat the memory, reattach everything and see if that solves the problem.

Windows boot failure. press ok to fix boot failure

Pressing [Alt]-[F10] during the boot-up is what your laptop uses to get to the Acer eRecovery Management Utility
However this may not be necessary, although it COULD be a virus, it also could simply be that the boot sector of the hard drive is corrupted/damaged, which can with some OS's be easily fixed, other's, not-so-easy....but still doable.

You've GOT to remember to let people know what Operating System you have to better advise you.

My dell optiplex gx620 does not start and it shows no. 3 and 4 lights illuminated on its front . what could be the problem.?

One of your memory chips is bad.

Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of the memory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Diagnostic Lights caution.gif CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions located in the Product Information Guide. To help you troubleshoot a problem, your computer has four lights labeled "1," "2," "3," and "4"on the front or back panel. The lights can be off or green. When the computer starts normally, the patterns or codes on the lights change as the boot process completes. When the computer starts normally, the patterns or codes on the lights change as the boot process completes. If the POST portion of system boot completes successfully, all four lights display solid green. If the computer malfunctions during the POST process, the pattern displayed on the LEDs may help identify where in the process the computer halted.
note.gif NOTE: The orientation of the diagnostic lights may vary depending on the system type. The diagnostic lights can appear either vertical or horizontal.

Suggested Resolution

tools011.jpg
The computer is in a normal "off" condition, or a possible pre-BIOS failure has occurred.
The diagnostic lights are not lit after the computer successfully boots to the operating system.
Plug the computer into a working electrical outlet and press the power button.

tools013.jpg
A possible BIOS failure has occurred; the computer is in the recovery mode.
Run the BIOS Recovery utility, wait for recovery completion, and then restart the computer.

tools012.jpg
A possible processor failure has occurred.
Reinstall the processor and restart the computer.

tools014.jpg
Memory modules are detected, but a memory failure has occurred.

  • If you have one memory module installed, reinstall it and restart the computer. (see "Memory" for instructions on how to remove and install memory modules.)
  • If you have two or more memory modules installed, remove the modules, reinstall one module, and then restart the computer. If the computer starts normally, reinstall an additional module. Continue until you have identified a faulty module or reinstalled all modules without error.
  • If available, install properly working memory of the same type into your computer.
  • If the problem persists, contact Dell.

tools015.jpg
A possible graphics card failure has occurred.
  • If the computer has a graphics card, remove the card, reinstall it, and then restart the computer.
  • If the problem still exists, install a graphics card that you know works and restart the computer.
  • If the problem persists or the computer has integrated graphics, contact Dell.

tools016.jpg
A possible floppy or hard drive failure has occurred.

tools018.jpg
A possible USB failure has occurred.
Reinstall all USB devices, check cable connections, and then restart the computer.

tools019.jpg
No memory modules are detected.

  • If the problem persists, contact Dell.

tools020.jpg
Memory modules are detected, but a memory configuration or compatibility error exists.

tools021.jpg
An other failure has occurred.
This pattern also displays during System Setup and may not indicate a problem.
  • Ensure that the cables are properly connected to the system board from the hard drive, CD drive, and DVD drive.
  • Check the computer message that appears on your monitor screen.
  • If the problem persists, contact Dell.

tools022.jpg
After POST is complete, all four diagnostic lights turn green briefly before turning off to indicate normal operating condition.
None.

My samsung laptop will not turn on. How do I fix this?

Hi

Possible reasons why your laptop doesn't boot ( Power on with green light indicator lit)

-battery problem
-memory problem
-power failure
-etc ( maybe one of the hardware that is connected inside your laptop)

Troubleshooting steps:

1. First you need to try switching on your laptop without the battery
Basically you will remove the battery of your laptop and connect the ac power then switch it on.

a. If your laptop boot up ( with a green light indicator ) the problem will be the battery.
b. If the laptop does not boot up continue using step 2.

2. Unplug the power adapter , remove the battery and memory
Watch this video and it will help you to remove the memory
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdDf46XKXiE&feature=related
NOTE: Your not going to upgrade your memory!

After removing the memory put it back close the panel and put back the screw.

Now after putting the memory , Try to plug the ac adapter and press the power button and check if your laptop will boot ( No need to put back the battery because your laptop will power up with out the battery )

If your laptop will still have the same problem the best thing to do is to bring it on the nearest support center for Samsung laptop because there's a possibility the problem will be the hardware that is connected inside your laptop.

I want to provide you the complete information on how to open your laptop however since your just new with this and to avoid any damages the best thing that you can do is to bring it on laptop specialist if the troubleshooting steps that I provided will not work.

Be careful Alright! Good luck
Have a nice day

Dell GX150 Turns on gets to windows screen then cycles off & on

Check to make sure that all your memory chips are completely inserted and none of the pins are sticking out. I also recommend trying to boot up in safe mode or with a startup disc. You can switch modes by pressing f2 when pc boots up. If possible, try using system restore while in safe mode, run any anti-virus programs as well. If the problem still occurs, I would try a different harddrive first. Then processor and lasty motherboard would be last problem.

2007 DELL XPS M140 LAPTOP WILL LOCK DUE TO 256M MEMORY STICK

Normally you boot up the laptop without a memory stick in the USB port.
Check your BIOS settings for the boot up device order.
You should have the hard drive as the first boot device, you can have the CD as the first boot device and the hard drive as the second boot device.
You should not have the USB port as the first boot device.

Dell Inspiron B130 wont boot

First remove the battery from the PC! Leave it off for a short period of time! about 2min. This allows the computer to erase anything in temporary memory. Place the battery back onto th PC and try to boot it up. The other thing you can do is boot the pc up with just the power cord in place. See if it boots just from the power cord. Sometime the batteries from dell causes the whole entire PC to become unresponsive.
