Question about Symbol MC9090 Barcode Scanner
Has anyone experienced problems reading I2of5 using the Symbol PDT 8100? Having done some reasonably extensive tests I have come to the conclusion that it will only read I2of5 barcodes of either 10 or 14 digits in length. This is true regardless of: 1) whether my own or Symbol's scan demo program is used (eliminating my software) 2) regardless of which of two PDT 8100s I use (hopefully eliminating any hardware problem) and 3) regardless of the source of the I2of5 barcodes (presumably eliminating any quality / out of tolerance probs with the codes.) Symbol are the leading portable barcode scanner company in the world - I just can't believe that one of their devices would have this problem inherent but that's what the results of my tests so far point to. Has anyone got a Symbol Pocket PC based device that they would do a very quick scan test for me if I emailed them some I2of5 barcodes? TIA Tony I am using a Motorola WT4090 barcode scanner. I cannot get the scanner to read an I2of5 barcode in the Wavelink program. In a wordpad on the device itself it will read and decode the barcode without issue. But when I try to scan in the Telnet session it will not scan the barcode. I have the min set to a 6 and max set to 10. I am using a 8 digit barcode. Please if you have any info or ideas email me at email@example.com. Thank you!
Normally I2of5 comes disabled as default in wavelink software.
You will need to enable it and if you are scanning barcodes of different legths, set both the maximum and minimum to 0 value. This will allow any length.
If you still have problems, get back in touch with me and send me a sample barcode as I have a verifier which will allow me to determine whether there may be a problem or not.
