Question about Kenmore 659 Electric Dryer

Kenmore Electric Dryer Can't replace heating unit

I have a series 90 Kenmore electric dryer. I found a bad thermal cutout and replaced it, but cannot re-connect the heating unit to the vent pipe in back. Any tricks of the trade?

Thanks for your note, but I don't quite understand it. Perhaps I used the wrong terminology. Using terms from the parts manual, I can't get the heater box(3392537) to plug back in to the air duct assembly (697354).

I removed the deflector and duct from outside the house, disconnected the hose, attached the hose to the dryer, passed the hose through the wall as the dryer went back in, then reattached the hose to the duct/deflector and reinstalled the duct/deflector

I need to get to the thermal fuse in my Kenmore 90 Series electric dryer model # 110.66902690. I took off the bottom front panel and can't find it...I'm really not even sure what it is I'm supposed to be...

ok the heater is on the right side of the unit standing from the front the thermal fuse is located behind the thermastat should be round black objects that have to wires going to them it is recommend that if you have a bad thermal fuse you replace your thermostat wich is the bigger round plastic also might want to check your vent out of the house for a restiction

Need help with gas dryer Kenmore 90 series serial #MK0211114 the gas does not ignite electric is working fine

This could be several things thermal fuse,hi limit thermostat, flame sensor, ignitor,or coils. There is a video on troubleshooting a gas dryer at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the troubleshooting procedure. It is a different model but troubleshooting will be the same. You could also check the video on the electric heating element replacement that is a kenmore 90 and most of the parts will be the same. That one will give you a good idea of what thermostat is what.

29'' Kenmore electric dryer series 110 not heating up

Check the following to address this issue.(Most common issue will be a burned out thermal fuse.)

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Kenmore 90 series electric dryer blowing cold air only

1st check the breakers
2nd check wiring in back to see connections are secure.
3rd check element. It would be burned in two.
4th check thermal overload switch which is located underneath top of dryer. Easy to remove top. Probably 4-6 screws.
