I have installed, unininstalled and reinstalled this
printer several times following the HP installation
proceedure and under the direction of HP and Gateway. I
have also downloaded the latest drivers from HP. I have
deleted all traces of the installation including all usb
drivers. The HP program says in installed successfully and
the "setup hardware device" has said it "product connected
successfully, only it does NOT PRINT!! It keeps selecting
LPT 1, I beleive it should be selecting a USB port. When I
pull down the printer port menu all the ports installed
with the program: DOT4, DOT4PRINT, DOT4USB & USB all say
(unknow local port). I did further research and found that
the USB port in installed as HPZID412.inf
(windows/system32/drivers/HPZID412.sys). HP nor Gateway
has been able to help me with this problem. Can any one
else??

Hi Tom, Thanks for trying to help. I made the mistake of
giving HP another try for the last few days. I do have a
start up disk, but am unsure as to what the command is
that starts the bios update. I have two .com(s) on the
floppy: gw2kboot.com & amiflash.com. Reading the "read-me
file, my guess would be amiflash.com. I am pasting the
file so you can read for yourself. I appreciate the time
you are giving me and hope we can get this printer to
PRINT.
