Question about Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V2000 Notebook
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news , but you are out of luck.
I saw a post in a forum that there may be a backdoor password of SKY_FOX , but it didnt work for that person.
On older systems , removing the CMOS battery and shorting two pins on the motherboard would clear the password. On newer systems it is held in non-volitale memory so this will not work. Also CMOS crackers worked on older systems but will not work on this one.
The only way to clear it is to replace the chip on the motherboard which contains the password. Which means you need a new motherboard as Siemens wont sell the chip by itself.
There is a similar situation with IBM thinkpads. There is a way to recover those but only by building a special device to interface with the com port, dump the results to a file and send it a guy who makes a living decrypting IBM passwords. He doesnt support your PC though. And your PC doesnt have a com port anyway.
From what I understand it is around $300 to ship it to Siemens to have them fix it. I think I would just get another PC.
See this thread for details on what others tried.
