Question about Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 Notebook

My display is truncated on the right side

On my Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 laptop, my display is about a half inch truncated on the right side from top to bottom. On some monitors (typically desktops) there are buttons for centering the display, widening it horizontally or vertically, etc. Is there a way I can bring back the area of the display I'm missing? Thanks for any help you can provide. Jimmy

Thank you for helping. I think I'm going to have to play with extending the desktop and the resolution to ultimately get it right.
    Thanks! Jimmy

Right click on desktop, goto display settings.

You will have 2x monitors displayed.

Click on monitor 2, and look below for the tick box and click extend desktop.

This should sort it.

Had the same thing on a Tosh' TE2100

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Toshiba cmos battery disconnect

on a Satellite 1415-S115 You will have to open up the clam shell and remove all of the B25 and F6 screws from the bottom, as well as the B16 and B6 screws under the keyboard. To remove the keyboard, pry up the trim piece that holds the power button with a sharp nife a stanley blade is always usefull remove the three screws. mind the wireless wire leads there a pain.

The CMOS battery will be under the right side of the hand rest, next to the mouse. It has two leads and the battery is in a blue bag.

simply replace the battery and reassemble your laptop.
