Question about DISH Network IR Remote Control

Remote Control #1 will no longer control TV

Some friends were in my home while I left for a two day vacation. When I came back the remote would not work. It would turn on the TV, but would not change channels or go to the guide. The TV button remained lit, even when I would hit the SAT button. If I tried to adjust the volume, it would get louder and louder and I would have to control it with the TV remote. I replaced the batteries with fresh ones, but it didn't work. I have shut the receiver off for 10 seconds, then tried again. The second TV that is running off this receiver is working fine with the #2 remote. What can I do to fix it?
Thanks,
Rob Balch

Inside the remote there is a circuit if that circuit turns faulty some functions work properly and some does not work.you can get the remote control opened with proper screw driver and thin knife like material.and clean the internal circuit and check out.otherwise it needs to be replaced.

Remove batteries from remote and put in fresh batteries, this will reset the remote.

Sorry I see that you replaced the batteries already, if you still have the same problem then remote is faulty.

Remotes are not serviceable, you can try taking it apart and see if you see any lose contact or broke solder joint, or blown component, otherwise they are not worth fixing, get replacement, or call factory to see if they can offer cover on this fault.
You should find factory support phone number on the remote instructions.

I purchased (from a friend who relocated) a Phillips/Magnavox model #9P5511C102 TV with a Magnavox remote control.. I used it for a while and then got Direct TV. Now, I cannot remember my tv code. After...

It sounds like you need a replacement remote. :-)

Unfortunately, from what I've found researching this for you, you can no longer buy the original remote. However, there is a substitute available that should be able to perform most if not all of the functions of the original.

The substitute remote is available for $35 from:
http://www.remotes.com/store/philips/9p5511c102.html

There is a picture of the suggested substitute on the sales site so you can see if it might be what you need. The site says it offers a 1 year money back guarantee, so if it isn't right you can always send it back.

Good luck!

My remote for the samsung htc550 home theater system does not switch back to the set top after I have switched it to my tv. I no longer have a working remote for it and do not know how to switch it back....

Press the BD Receiver / TV button twice in quick succession. The light should now be orange which indicates it will operate the Home Cinema system....Pressing it twice again in quick succession will turn the light green indicating it will operate the TV.....Unfortunately the useless operator manual with the system does not tell you this....

Yes, but you will have very limited control for internal adjustments.
You can purchase a new remote from www.remotes.com
or 1-(800)REMOTES and they will ship it to you within 5 days.

Good Luck !

My Sharp Aquos TV has stopped responding to remote control(s)

Unplugging my TV for 15 seconds (longer actually - at least a minute) made the remote and the satellite TV remote both work again with the TV.  Thanks for the tip!
