Question about Jandy Lite2 LG400 Ceramic Compact Heater

1 Answer

When igniting, the Jandy 2 lite has tremdous flameout from unit.

When the Jandy 2 lite pool heater is not used for an extended period of time, I have a tremendous flameout from the unit. The unit is not used for a 2 or 3 month period(winter months). I turn it on after this period of time and the unit ignites like it should. However, there is a flameout and it is actually very scary. Today, it knocked the front cover off where actually observed the flameout(blue flame). Please tell me what the issue may be.

I suspect that dust or debris of some type accumulates inside of the heater during months of nonuse. Store the unit in a box or a plastic bag and see if this solves the problem. good luck with it.

My Laars 2 lite pool heater will not ignite, I have the same problem every year for the first ignition. The pilot is lit. I removed the filter to make sure it is not the pressure.

you might need to bleed the line to get fuel to the heater core. If there is a bubble in the line it will prevent the heater from working. Usually, there is a bleeder valve on the heater unit -- unscrew this and let some of the fuel drain out (into a container) and give it another shot. It should light right up after bleeding the line. If the fuel that you took out of the bleeder valve looks clean, you can then put it back in the fuel tank and it should be fine.
If this is a natural gas heater, there will be no bleeder valve -- you should have it looked at by a professional repair person. Natural gas is very dangerous and should only be repaired by a qualified professional to avoid serious injury or death.

Pilot is lit, but burner will not come on. I jumped TH/PP to TH then burner comes on. Pilot generator = 350mV.

More than likely the tempature control is defective, since you effectively bypassed that connection. I found a manual for your unit which shows different types of ignition. I'm not even sure if the millivolt system is covered in this manual. Here's the sight

No, do not mess with wiring. If the gas does not ignite and the pilot goes out, The thermocoupler is faulty. This is the probe that should be sitting at the tip of the pilot flame. When it gets hot enough it allows the main gas valve to open when you put it to ON position. If the pilot light goes out, It shuts off the gas for safety. Summary, Bad thermocoupler. Easy, inexpesive repair. Let me know please, if you need further help.
