Question about Toshiba SD-4700 DVD Player

1 Answer

Changed HDMI settings and can't now see image on screen

I have a Toshiba SD-480ekb DVD player, stupidly I changed the settings of the HDMI scaling and it's now just displaying a blue screen. The machine isn't connected via a HDMI cable, it's only an old scart cable. I just want to know how to reset the machine to its original factory settings. If any one can help that would be brilliant.

Thanks

Terry.

I did the same thing, if you hold the hdmi select button on the player (not the remote) while ejecting and inserting a dvd, it will reset so you are able to access the setup menu again.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily..

Why can't I get the DVD player to work? I have it hooked up to a cable box.

im wondering why you did not connect it to the tv ?? but instead to cable box , does it have a pass thru capability ?? does it need to be off to pass thru ?? as most dvd player don't have a rf output but instead use a hdmi or composite signal output , would it not be easier to connect one of these to a spare input on tv then when u want to use dvd you only need to select the proper input from tvs source button to view the dvd ??

Toshiba 50A61rear projection colorstream TV. Went into sleep cycle with DVD player and don't hAve factory remote. Just sound no pic

Without a remote control, you can do nothing with this selection. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites.

Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. Visit some on-line sites too, which deals with electronic spare parts.

Veon tv manual

The eject button on the remote appears as an upward-pointing arrow with an underline - see below image. The eject button on the TV has a similar symbol.

However, I suspect that in your case, you might not be having a Remote.

This link says that your TV doesn't come with a Remote and DVD cannot be ejected without the remote :
