Question about Samsonite Case & Tripod Kit for Digital Cameras / Camcorders
I have a samsonite tripod and a Son 35MM digital camera. I cannot seem to get the camera attached securely to the tripod. I have it screwed in the quick release pad, but it seems the weight of it snaps it right out. Am I doing it right or is there another way to secure this....thanks.
You have to push the quick release lever all the way over to lock the pad into the base. usually to the left...you will feel the base secure tightly to the tripod. If this doesn't work you may have the wrong quick release for this tripod.

It sounds like the bolt is not theading into the camcorder nut far enough. don't go more than a 1/2 inch up into the nut however. You might need a longer shoe bolt.

not sure about the brand tripod but all good ones have a 1/4 standard screw that has blank shoulder so it spins freely yet stays in place there..see your local pro camera store for a 'camera mounting screw'..... or order from samy's camera online

Try http://www.tripodquickrelease.com/Generic_Tripods.htm for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I’ve seen. Since the tripod is unknown they are the best bet.

Try www.TripodQuickRelease.com for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I've seen. Because your tripod is not supported by the manufacturer; parts lists and pars are not available, you should measure the opening and see what other brand quick releases will work paying attention to the shape and locking mechanism. Otherwise just get another tripod.
