What is the TV source? For some sources (set top box), you may need to turn on the captions using the menus of the box.
Assuming you are using a source that gives captions that the TV can interpret, if you have the Proscan 26LA30Q remote, press the CC button to toggle through the caption options. Another route is to press Menu (either on the remote or the buttons on the side of the TV) then select the Feature submenu with the left/right arrows. Press Enter (menu when you use the buttons on the TV) then navigate to the Digital Closed Captions option. Here you can set the captions to on and adjust the size, style and color of the captions when they appear on-screen.
If you are using a universal remote, try the CC button. If it doesn't work, try another code for the Proscan TV on the remote. There are some codes that may not control all of the functions of the TV with the remote.
Using this button will set the Closed Caption mode when viewing a DTV or TV channel.
Enable Caption Using the TV Menu
Open the Menu screen, select the third icon, in the middle, this is the Setup Menu.
In the Setup Menu, choose the Caption option.
Caption: There are three items in it - Analog Closed Caption, Digital Closed Caption and Digital Caption Style
Analog Closed Caption: CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, TEXT1,TEXT2, TEXT3, TEXT4.
Digital Closed Caption: Service1, Service2, Service3, Service4, Service5, Service6.
Digital Caption Style: There are two Caption Styles. One is the
automatic function set as the broadcaster, while the other is the custom
style where you can adjust the font size, color, opacity, background
color etc., accordingly.
There are several possibilities here so you will need to work with me to resolve this problem. In order for Closed Captioning (CC) to work, you need to make sure the CC settings are correct on the TV, and then make sure they CC is switched on. In addition, if you are using a cable or satellite receiver box, CC also needs to be switched on for these "boxes".
It's easiest to start with the TV. Please make sure you have done the following:
1. Check the Closed Caption settings are as follows from the TV on-screen menu as follows:
a) Press the "MENU" button on the DYNEX remote b) Press the RIGHT arrow twice to highlight the "SETUP" menu c) Press the DOWN arrow once to open the "SETUP" menu d) Press the DOWN arrow twice to highlight "CLOSED CAPTION" e) Press the RIGHT arrow or the "ENTER" button once to open the CLOSED CAPTION MENU f) Make sure the Closed Caption option "CC MODE" is set to "ON". This can be changed using the UP/DOWN arrow keys to highlight "CC MODE" and using the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to switch between off and on.
The "Basic Selection" and "Advanced Selection" settings are for analogue and digital closed-captions respectively. In addition, the "Options" sub-menu can be used to change the size and style of the digital closed captions (Advanced Selection). All three of these options should eventually be set according to your personal preferences, but for the purposes of making sure it is working, I suggest you set them as follows:
Basic Selection = CC1
Advanced Selection = Service 1
These options are the basic settings which will display only the spoken dialogue of the TV program.
g) Press "EXIT" on the remote to close the menu and return to viewing mode.
2. Press the "CCD" button on your Dynex remote control. This can be found in the bottom right-hand corner of the remote. Each press of the "CCD" button will cycle the closed captions between ON and OFF. (CCD means Closed Caption Display)
3. Check the Closed Captions are displayed and then adjust the Basic and Advanced Selection options until the type and appearance of the closed captions are how you like them.
If you have done the above and still cannot get it to work, please let me know whether you are using a cable or satellite receiver and the brand/model number. I will then be able to assist you further.
The cc has been enabled on your cable box. Usually there is a hidden menu accessed by turning off the cable box. Yes I did say turning off the cable box first. Then immediately pressing the menu button on the front of the cable box. The hidden menu should pop up and one of the menu options will be closed captioning,. Disable it.
Captioned programs are marked in TV listings by "CC". so press the cc button on the remote and the closed caption option will be applied.press that cc button again to turn off the closed caption option. 1) Check the size and manufactured year of your television. If it was made after 1993 and is larger than 13 inches, it has a closed captioning system built into it. Otherwise, you may need to purchase a separate closed caption system, which are available at a number of online outlets.
2)Turn on your TV and access the menu for closed captioning. The precise location of the menu varies by television set. Most are accessible by pressing the "Audio" or "Set Up" menu on your remote, then scrolling down to the "CC" or "Closed Captioning" option. Check your owner's manual for precise instructions.
3)Turn the closed captioning option to the "On" position. It will then run closed captions for every program that broadcasts them. Newer sets may allow you to adjust the size, font and colors of the closed captioning letters to fit your individual tastes.
4)Tune to a particular program for a few minutes to make sure the closed captions are working. Note that while many broadcasts run closed captioning, not all of them do. If the captions don't appear, check your TV listing to ensure the program includes them.
5)If you're watching aDVdon your TV, access the DVD's "Set Up" menu. It should have captioned options, which allow you to show captions in English and possibly other languages as well.
Comcast's remote has nothing to do with closed captioning. It's on your tv remote. First, the tv has to be capable of handling closed captioning, and your's is- and second, the program must have closed captioning provided- current programs do, some older shows do not support closed captioning. Recheck your remote, and if necessary- look at the setup instructions that came with the TV- they should also be posted online at the Proscan support site.
look on top and behind of the monitor you will find buttons for your TV then follow this steps:
The Setup menu lets you configure the TV to fit its surroundings and your preferences. To access the Setup menu, press MENU, and then select Setup from the Main Menu.closed caption options are:
CC Setting Lets you choose the way closed captioning information appears on the screen.
Off No captioning information displayed.
On Always Captioning information shown always, when available.
On When Muted Displays captioning information, when available, whenever the TV?s sound is muted by pressing the MUTE button. The captioning information is not displayed when the sound is not muted. Make sure all of the options for closed caption are off press exit and you are good to go.
