Question about Nintendo Super NES Console

1 Answer

Super Nintendo console

By mistake I recently PULLED out the cartridge without pushing the EJECT button.

This is the first and only time I have done this and would like to know will this effect or damage the SNES console itself.

I put in my Street Fighter cartridge and moved the cartridge slightly and the game went to a black screen n froze , but my Mortal Kombat didn't do that

I notice that this happened as the Street Fighter cartridge is loose when you shake it but the Mortal Kombat doesn't do that.
Is this due to the cartridge being loose and old and makes it more difficult for the SNES consoles to read the data/cartridge?

It's always possible to damage the unit by not pushing the eject button first. If you have other cartridges that work fine, then the loose cartridge is the issue, not the unit. A loose cartridge won't be read as well as a good snug one.

Super NES Console: My super Nintendo gets power (red light turns on) ...

Maybe the one that is not turning on to play game is broken then. Ensure that you have a known-good game cartridge inserted before powering on the SNES console. Most older, cartridge-based game consoles don't boot without a game installed.
Does the power light to the left of the controller ports turn on when you turn on the power switch?
If not, check your power adapter and outlet for functionality and good connection.
Check that the reset switch is not stuck. Wiggle it back and forth through its range of motion a few times. If something sticky gets in there it can get jammed in the reset position, which will prevent any game from booting.
You mentioned that there is no image. Are you getting any sound from your games after waiting a few minutes with everything connected and turned on?
If you hear game sounds or music from the SNES, but see no picture and you've already (really and truly) ruled out the cabling and TV, then you might have a bad main board in the console.
If you don't get any video or sound, then it's not booting your game. You can find other recommendations about how to clean game and console connections, but usually inserting and ejecting a game 10-20 times will knock loose or grind off enough gunk to get a game to boot. Try this, and be sure to use the eject lever instead of ripping the game out to avoid console connector damage. If it's still not working, repeat with another game.

OK.. I could not get a disk to eject from my wii console. I tried unplugging it and slapping it on the side.. I also found this site trying to figure out what i can do.. I took some of yalls advice on...

Oh my God ;-) Isn't it funny sometimes when you don't notice simple things, happens all the time.
I one time spent 30mins trying to turn on a PC, to only notice I was pressing the "reset" button and not the power button!
Glad I'm not alone.

Disc won't eject.

When you hit eject do you hear it attempting to push out the disc? It may be blocked by something. If it is not attempting to push out the disc then something isn't registering with the eject button. In this case, power down the wii, unplug all plugs from the back, wait 90 seconds or so, plug in just the power plug and hit the eject button (before hitting power or anything else). If it still does not try to eject then either the button is broken or the disc drive in the wii has died.

It is still probably under warranty from Nintendo, they can fix it for free for you. If anything, give them a call at:
