The solution is very simple. Go to the access point. Go to options and enter the IP address and DNS server settings manually instead of leaving them to automatic. You should be able to connect to internet now after a phone restart.

there is a service center number in your message setting. if it is edited your messages wont go . correct service center can be taken from your service provider. if that is right the reset your phone once it will start working fine.
whoov! which school is providing wifi... anyways ur wifi of the school may be on but the internet modem may be off. but if ur friends are able to use it,,try and join the exact connection they are login on to.

Data bearer: select Wireless LAN
WLAN network name: select search wlan to select wlan in range.
network status: select "public" if you can see wlan in range
WLAN network mode: select infrs or adhoc
WLAN security mode: select same settings used by WLAN access point

Homepage: select the homepage you want
