HTC diamond dropped in water

Hello , groan...

We had a celing flood at work and while we rushing around filling buckets My o2 PDx Ignitio (HTC diamond) took a dive into a full bucket of water.

I rescued it almost immediately and switched it off and have removed the battery and left it to dry for a day. The base lights come on ok now , BUT the screen does'nt seem to light up properly any more. It does for a few minutes and then goes streaky and then black.

is there anything else i can do or am i facing installing a new screen? It is 3 months old.

also does anyone know where i can get the removal and fitting instructions for the screen. Despite my typos (above) it is a HTC diamond or sold her ein the uk as an O2 Ignitio.

Aloha, thanks , I've tried something close, Eg leaving in as open as possible on a towel on a radiator for a couple of days.

but the screen twitched once ,showed me the buttons , and since then has remained stubbornly black. I know the rest of it is working as i have managed to link it to my PC and extract some pictures (of the flood..)

any other ideas? Also do ou know where i could get instructions/guidance to installa new screen?

Try using a hairdryer on it. Open it up as far as you can without voiding your warranty. Don't let it get too hot but the moisture is inside and you may be able to get it to dry out in a couple of days.

Alas, no, I don't know how to change the screen. I have 2 more feeble suggestions: 1 you're in Hawaii, leave it out for "Mr. Sun" to warm and change the moisture content inside then 2) google for the screen replacement (I found instructions on the web, for changing the skin on a Motorola I730 a couple years ago and it worked exacactly as written, hairdryer and all.)

Hi i have htc touch diamond 2 ... and i wanted to change to langauge in english...plz tell me how can i do..

Hello Fozi Batool,

Regarding your question about HTC Diamond. First if you cannot see the option for English Language under languages, meaning it is not available on the ROM (Firmware) installed in your HTC Diamond. If that is the case, you will need to change its ROM that supports English Language.

There are a lot of information that you will need to get the correct ROM for your HTC Diamond. Anyway, when selecting ROM that includes English Language, it should have WWE on the filename itself.

You can read further regarding this by clicking the link below.

Thank you,

I have dropped my htc diamond (sprint) and the screen does not turn on.

I don't know if this is the same problem I had, but I think it is. I dropped my HTC Touch Diamond (standard version) yesterday and when I turned it on the screen didn't show anything.

I took it apart and found out the problem was caused by loose connectors between the main-board and the lcm- and navi-board.

The main board (green rectangle marks the problematic connectors):

Which connect to (green rectangle):

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

The phone shuts off randomly, battery is fully charged.

The battery indicator could be indicating full but yet not filled. Buy a new battery for your phone and this should fix the problem.

Good Luck

Wifi Dosn`t Turn on

Try a soft reset, its under the back cover.

If that doesn't help, do a hard reset, press the power button, volume down button, and the ok/enter button. At the same time press the reset button in the back. Keep holding all keys down (execpt reset) until you get a message on your screen giving you further instructions.

If you installed 'modification' programs that add a function/feature that changes windows mobile settings, or your data connection, etc. Try uninstalling it, and don't download it again unless you know it full supports your diamond (there and different versions of the diamond as well to make a note of)

Viewing photos on the htc touch diamond.

If you take lower resolution photos on the Diamond, especially photos for contacts, they aren't as big as the other photos, so you must zoom in for them to fill the whole screen. For that, simply do a half circle clockwise motion on the picture itself.

Also, if you took larger photos with the camera on it's side, you must turn it to it's side again so the picture goes back to landscape mode.
