Chamberlain Garage Door Opener will not close door

I have a Chamberlain 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener and when I push the button on the remote or wall it just starts clicking and won't close. This problem has gotten worse and when it first started the door would go almost all the way down and then come back up. It seemed to always open ok too.
I have tried adjusting the "Close Force" button and the sensors seem to be aligned correctly. I have also greased up the rollers.
Anybody have any idea what could be wrong here? Thanks to all who reply......

Thank you for the reply. I believe both of the sensors are working properly. One has a green light on it and the other an amber light. I was messing around with it again yesterday and when I disengage from the door it will sometimes go all the way through the motion without stopping, but sometimes not.

I think I may have this fixed now. I messed around with the eyes for about 30 minutes and think I may have finally gotten them lined up right. I don't know how they got so out of whack?!? I had to slightly bend the bracket back and then the green light got really solid. I didn't think it had to be that solid. Before the little green light was flickering a bit.

Thanks a lot for your responses guys. You may have saved me a few hundred bucks!!! I was ready to buy a new opener this weekend.

The sensors are lined up (both solid LED's). The orange LED on the back of the machine flashes 4 times when I try to close the door. A previous post set to check the manual, but we just bought this house without the manual for this (the machine looks very new).
    Hope somebody can help.

It is most likly your sensors You should not have to mess with your force settings but I can help you with your sensors assume you have checked to make sure there both looking at each other. First close the door so you can see them better. Tap each one of the sensors to see if any of the lights are flickering. if your then you need to tight them up and try again. Also when its dusk or night close your garage door and look at the lights see if one of the tracks is shaking sensor. If not check the wires make sure there is not staple or cuts in them. Then last thing you can check see if your door is hitting the back of the sensor mount it does happen. Also remove and ropes or handles you have fromt eh buttom of the door. That should take care of the problem. Make another post if your still having problems

The problem is with the safety eyes. Make sure that both eyes are lit. If not, align them making sure that they are pointing directly at each other. Also, if you adjusted the force setting make sure that it is not turned up past 5 or it can be dangerous.

The next thing to try is take off the cover and see if the gear is stripped. If it is the bottom will be full of white shavings

If the wall button will operate the door up but none of the devices do then look at the wall button. Find the lock button and push it for 2 seconds and then try the remotes again. This is your vacation lock. You can get a manual at chamberlain.com. Now if the door does not open or close with the remotes you can reprogram them. Press the colored learn button on the motor head and then press the button on the remote. Repeat for each remote. If they fail to program you will need a new logic board. Thanks BB

Make sure the brackets for the sensors are tight and the small light on the sensors is not blinking ever so slightly. You also might try shading the sensor so that the sun is not shining directly into the lens.

If the main light flashes 10 times when you try to close the door it is a sensor problem. Make sure they are not flickering ever so slightly and that they are not loose on their brackets. Tweak them a little bit.

Garage door opener closes when closed

Try this: Loosen the chain enough that you can remove it from the sprocket above the motor. Now run the opener until the sprocket turns in the clockwise direction and stops. Reconnect the chain. This will get everything in sync and you will have to tweak the 'up and down limits' a bit to get it just right.

I have no idea what a 132C2105-3B is but try this. Hold the button down on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. If the remote is the correct one for your opener it should work.

Check your door sensors. They have probably been bumped. Tweak them until they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not blinking.

Garage door opening/closing problem

Could be a bad wall button or a smashed wire.
Anytime a door opens and/or closes by itself, or remotes work intermitantly I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button or a bad wall button.

If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door or interfere with the remote.

Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.

The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.
Or a remote in someone’s purse that gets the button pushed by other stuff in the purse.

The test is to disconnect the push button wires at the power unit. If the self operation / interference stops you have located the problem. If you reconnect the wires and disconnect the wire at the wall button this will tell you if the problem is the wire or the button.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Garage door opened, won't close

If you can press and hold the wall button and the door will go down, you have a photo eye issue. Check the photo eyes at the bottom of the door.
