No map found

I just bought my TomTom GPS GO 930 yesterday and when I turned it on (after I charged the battery), under "select a map" it said "No maps found", and this specific GPS is supposed to come with pre-installed pre-loaded maps, however, there are no maps,so what do I do?

Hi, i am very upset and spend nearly half day

If you had just purchased the TomTom GPS, you can go online to register the GPS, and download and install the "latest map" using TomTom HOME (as per the latest map guarantee, for a new unit).
Or, you may want to get TomTom Support (online via email and/or by phone) to help you with your problem ... to see if installing the camera causes the map to be lost, and to recover/restore your map (for free). That may be possible if the map (data) got corrupted when you installed the cameras. You'll just want to make sure that is not the case before you restore/re-install the map ... e.g. was it due to memory constraints/limitations ? If it is, purchasing & downloading the map from the TomTom site may get you back into the same situation ...
Yes, there is the option of getting a free map from the GPS underground community ... but that is not legal.

My Tom Tom Go 300 keeps coming up No Maps found. What can I do?

Either the map(s) in your GPS were deleted or you bought a unit without maps. Your only option is to purchase the maps that you need from TomTom. They cost about $70-$100 US dollars in the US. I do not know where you live or what maps you need, so I can't give you more information right now.

The easiest way to get maps is through "TomTom Home" software that you should have installed in your computer. If you don't have it, install it from www.tomtom.com and start TomTom Home. Then plug the GPS docking station to a USB port on your computer and place your GPS on the docking station. Turn the GPS on. If you are asked if you want to connect your GPS to the computer, answer YES. After the GPS is recognized by TomTom Home, you'll get a set of icons on the window screen. One of them should be labeled "get maps". Click on it. Most of the time, only a few maps will be shown. To get access to all the maps you can buy, choose "ALL" from the drop down menu that says "Recommended".

Plese, report back if you need further assistance.

No maps found..i cant locate backup..cant access menu on device..

Not sure what you have done - but if this is a new device you are entitled to a free upgrade to the latest map which should fix yor problem. Connect device to your computer - Open TomTom Home - Click on Tools (at the top) - Select Latest Map Guarantee - this should download a new up to date copy of your map.

It says "no maps found"

I had the same problem before on a TomTom GO 730. The free internal memory was too small to hold the updated map so installation failed (the download to PC was OK, the message is misleading).
It's a TomTom software bug to not check on the available free memory properly before the update process is started.
My TomTom device required a new software install from scratch. Remove any excess MP3 or unused voices before you retry the update.

Need to no about updated my tom tom plus would like to no what free maps there are

1) You need to download and install TomTom Home on your PC/Laptop: see attached official TomTom link:
http://www.tomtom.com/services/service.php?id=16

2) You will then need to connect your GPS unit via the provided USB cable to your PC/Laptop withTomTom Home running and connected to the internet.

3) Your current MAP can then be updated via the 'Update' selection. Any other 'system' files will also be updated automatically using this function.

4) Using TomTom Home, you can also download free add-ons such as 'Voices' and 'Colors schemes'.

If you just bought the unit within 3 months, you can update to the latest Map free of charge using 'Latest Map Guarantee' function in TomTom Home otherwise, there are NO FREE ADDITIONAL FREE MAPS.

Hope it Help: let me know how you go!
