Question about Kenmore 84052 Dryer

Dryer sometimes works

When I push the start button on my Kenmore Model 66812690 it sounds as if it will start and somtime does. But sometimes it will not, the drum will turn by hand but it seems to be hard to turn in some spots. If I repeatly try to start it, it stops even trying to start.

Should be a broken belt.
If you are mechanical, you can change it, but it may be a big job for you.
If you want to see, you might try raising the lid by inserting a putty knife or thin screwdriver under the top, over near the sides, to pop the lid open.

Dryer hit start button and it hums
sounds like a motor is going bad or you have a sock in the blower fan but if it was a sock, it wouldn't work at all

did you clean the inside venting circuit inside the dryer from the blower housing.lint trap etc if the dryers full of lint a clean outside vent system wont help

Dryer doesn't always start, and doesn't keep running
your have a dieing dryer motor,weak weak to turn the drum anymore,the model number is inside the dryer door if you want to try and find one cheap on ebay-mike

According to the manufacture (Whirlpool manufactures this model for Kenmore) PF is Power Failure, they do not recommended replacing the control. Have an electrician check the wall receptacle or breaker panel. I suspect you have a loose connection, sometimes it is just time to replace the receptacle.

62802 stops running after a few minutes
It sounds as if you have a defective drive motor.  After the motor runs for a while and heats up, the internal thermal switch cuts it off before it gets too hot and becomes a hazard.  Once the motor cools down and the thermal switch makes up again, it will run and then repeat this process.

I have a Kenmore 80 series dryer that leaves my clothers with a gas like smell after they have been dried. I haven't been painting, staining or using chemicals near were the dryer is kept. Additionally, I took the dryer apart and cleaned out all of the lint near the blower, through the flexible exhaust pipe and everywhere else. The curious thing is I don't get the smell on the delicate cycle or the air fluff cycle. Just get the smell on the medium and higher setting. Looked at the belt, pulley wheel, etc and nothing has melted or is overly worn. Any ideas? Thanks, DonSee the problem
