UL2494ECW3 is the model number. The commercial freezer is about 10 years old and we lost the manual. We need to defrost and arent sure how exactly to do this. Should we open the drainage stopper on the bottom...if so how do we empty it. Should the freezer dial be ON while the SUPER DEFROST button is pulled out? Help!
the product below is the closest I could find to ours....I believe Arctic Air makes Broich.
Contact RepairClinic.com! I've used this online appliance repair clinic for years now with 100% success. If you can't find the answer yourself by putting in the make & model# & letting the auto-fix find the problem then an appliance tech will take over and help out.
I must've paid for my fridge to be fixed by a local guy 3x before finding RepairClinic. Their tech told me right off what was really wrong: I needed a new timer - not another defrost heater (without that timer working defrost heaters were burning up about every 8-10 mos like clockwork.) Cost for the timer was 24.95 & included all the directions for how to install the part! I'd been forking out 122.95 for those #@O#% defrost heaters - and RC sold me a new kit for 31.50 - including shipping - because I had to replace both parts. It's been workng fine for 2 1/2 yrs now - nice & cold and no ice buildup.
They have parts for practically everything.snd yes, that includes lots of manuals for all sorts of appliances. Give 'em a try! They're WAY cheaper than any other parts or repair company plus they ship as soon as you place your order. I usually get my parts in 48 hrs. . M. Koval Lyndhurst, OH

If it has electronic controls, you will need the manual. On manual commercial freezers the knob is in the back of the upper unit on the right hand side. They are a good make, I have had a number of them.
While moving the unit you may have jammed or budged the start capacitor which is keeping your unit from turning on. It is located in the back of the unit near the compressor it is oval shaped and silver in color with two wires running out of it. Get the number off of it, go online and search for beverage-air commercial freezer parts. You will need to have the model number to make sure that you get the right parts. Please rate
If the door seal does not seal completely, replace it. This is very important for freezers.

Home Depot and Lowes is a definite no.
I just read this article about the subject you ask about!
How old is the freezer?
Repair or replace?
When to pull the plug on your old refrigerator and or freezer
It nearly always makes sense to undertake simple do-it-yourself repairs, such as replacing a gasket on a refrigerator or a freezer.
Typically, you'll also find a troubleshooting section for more-serious problems in the owner's manual.
Should you pay for a repair or buy a new model? The answer depends mostly on the age of your refrigerator, how much you bought it for,and the cost of the repair.
Follow these guidelines:
When a repair makes sense.
If your refrigerator is under warranty or less than four years old (three years for top-freezers), paying for a repair makes sense. Note that refrigerators under warranty might require service from a factory-authorized technician; readers have found them on a par with independent repairers.
When a repair might be a wise choice.
If your refrigerator is out of warranty and is four to seven years old, it might make sense to pay for a repair. Customers generally pay $100 to $200 for a repair. But you might want to buy a new model even at this stage, given that today's models are quieter and have added features. Higher energy efficiency is another plus: Energy Star-qualified models made after April 28, 2008, are 43 percent more efficient than conventional models built before 2001 and 56 percent more efficient than those built before 1993.
When it pays to replace.
The repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new refrigerator. Data also shows that it doesn't pay to fix a less-expensive top-freezer refrigerator six or more years old or a bottom-freezer or side-by-side eight or more years old.
Thanks to better recycling programs, less than 10 percent of a refrigerator you replace is likely to end up in a landfill.
